Wet floor between beds

Hello! On our recent camping trip, we noticed a large wet spot under the back of our camper on the ground (1991 Excella). I assumed it was condensation from AC, as we noticed several other campers had similar wet areas. About 1 week in to the trip, I noticed moisture in the floor between the beds. The side bins under the beds are dry and water pressure is good. Only wet spot is right in the middle of floor between beds. What is going on?

Is the vent or A/C leaking?

This probably does not apply to your RV looking at the year of yours. We had the same issue and it was due to the front end separation issue. We were driving in heavy rain and water entered in the front storage compartment area and made its way between the beds.

Check the shore water inlet connection (where you connect the outside water hose), they are notorious to leak. On your model it is very likely mounted in the rear corner panel and would be near your reported water problem.

If it is leaking (from the back side) it would very likely run across the floor and pool in the area you describe. It could be as simple as a loose water line. Replacing it is a DYI project, you can find many threads here on how to.

Good luck.

John

The A/C is draining down the side. No condensation line.

I have checked the water inlet. It is not wet where it enters the trailer and there is still carpet in that bin and the carpet is not wet. It isn't wet anywhere except between beds.

My first thought. It wasn’t them.

If the perimeter is all dry, yet the center is wet, it must be coming straight down from the roof vent or fan.

My guess is that some of the condensate is not going over the side but rather dripping through the vent(s) onto the floor below it.

From reading your post I assumed you're not talking about rain.
If it's wet and not rain then it's either A/C or fresh water.
Is the A/C outlet damp? Any signs of a drip? No one witnessed it? Does it occur if you're NOT connected to city water? Do you leave the water pump on?
Conversely, if you shut off the A/C but leave the water system connected does it also happen? Try surrounding the area with paper towels to see it there's a trail from under a cabinet. Or sprinkle talc.
If the A/C runs off the roof, is it possible it's finding it's way past a window seal? Can you direct the drip off the roof by changing the 'level' slightly?
Try eliminating one thing at a time.

Don’t know where your toilet is but, is it possible the flush valve or inner seal (between the upper and lower bowl) is leaking and the water is making its way between your beds? You could turn off the water valve feeds to toilet to see if the dampness goes away.
