Question We need your help with the results of our new mods.

Hi,

We are modifying our new 2018 25' International RB Twin before we take it on its maiden voyage. We have replaced the original (see photos below), unused toilet with a Separett waterless one (see photo below), and the original (see photos below), unused, water heater with a Truma one (see photo below). Both of these items were professionally removed as the mods were carefully installed by the Colonial Airstream Service Department in Lakewood, NJ.

Now, we need to find Airstream forum members who might need to replace either their water heater or toilet with these original brand new models. The water heater will come complete with its original aluminium finished exterior venting door (see photo below).

We have tried our forum's classified pages without much luck.

How can we find forum members that need to replace their current water heater or toilet with one of these.

We want to find someone quickly. We have the "Springtime Streaming" itch to get on the road, and, we will especially work with everyone for a win-win outcome.

Looking forward to hearing the best way to make this happen ASAP.

Thanks

Nice setup. Does the liquid go to black tank? How many days per person for solid waste? Does the ventfan draw much current?

Yes, the separated liquid is plumbed directly to the black tank.

How often should the toilet be emptied?

If four people are using the toilet on a daily basis, then a container will last about 3-4 weeks, depending on how much toilet paper is being used. Since the final composting is done outside of the Separett toilets, they do not actually have a total capacity limit as other composting units do. If you have an event or times or a lot of use - you simple empty the liner of the holding chamber more frequently.

How much electricity does the fans use?
Our Villa 9210 DC electrical specs are 12DC/2.5W/210mA. The power consumption of the single speed vent fan is .06kwh/24hr? The Villa 9210 is designed for use on a DC battery or solar power but can also be used on AC inverted power with the included adapter.

You may have tried Facebook groups already, but thatís where Iíd go. Lots of restoration projects happening in those groups. I assume you already priced these to be a smoking hot deal, otherwise itís probably not worth someoneís time. If that doesnít work within a week, find a dumpster and call it good if you donít have a storage option. Good luck!

Cutout Dimensions for our for sale Water Heater

Important question!

Airstream Forum member NardEngineer has asked for the cutout dimensions for our combination Gas/Electric GE-9-EXT Electronic Ignition Water Heater that we are looking to sell.

According to the installation manual, the cutout dimensions are:

12-5/8Ē by 16-1/4Ē with a depth of 17-5/8Ē

Please see the illustration below.

Thanks

Questions about the Separett

Just found your thread. We were initially thinking about getting the Airhead, and I came across the Separett and it seemed to have more user friendly that the Airhead. Our only concern is that the Separett seems quite large.

We are looking at the Separett 9215 they have now and wanted to ask a couple questions

1. How has it worked now that you've had it for a couple years?
2. What challenges have you had?
3. For the ladies, how has it been to use? Any difficulty keeping the liquids/solids separate?

Any other tidbits you'd like to share in regards to it?

Thanks
Tony

Hello. I am new to this forum. My wife and I just bought our first AS -- a 2018 GT 27FBQ and are super excited. We haven't used it for real yet, though we have enjoyed hanging out in it, dreaming about the places we want to go. Really impressed with the design, workmanship and aesthetics. It's a beauty! Anyway, I saw this post and had a couple of follow-up questions: I assume an AS dealer is best contractor to install a Separatt Composting Toilet or do you think a good plumber could do it? The main challenges are: getting power to the fan, getting the urine tube to the BW tank and getting the vent to the outside. I'm thinking the best approach is through the BW tank. (There's no easy / good way to go through the wall.) Your suggestions are welcome, as well as any personal experience you've had with the Separett (or any urine diverting toilet) in an AS. Thanks in advance!

PS. This forum has been super helpful with our research, both before we made the purchase and since. Thank you!
