Water pump stutters when cold

I have a Shurflo 4008 Revolution water pump in my 2018 International 25 FBT.... and a strange problem. In the summer when the temperature is warm, the pump behaves normally, running continuously when a faucet is full on and gently switching off and on perhaps every two seconds for a trickle. But in colder temperatures, say in the 40’s F, it stutters like crazy, approximately three times a second even with the faucet almost completely open. I had the trailer to Jackson Center this spring but their work bays are heated and they either misunderstood or were unable to reproduce the problem.

Two part question:

- Has anyone else experienced this kind of temperature sensitivity with a water pump?

- The pump is still under warranty and it would be easy for me to replace the pump myself. Has anyone had success having replacement components sent directly to them instead of a dealer and if so, how?

Water pump is super easy to replace. 4 screws holding it down and 2 wires.

It’s possible that it’s loosing its ability to prime but if it’s still pumping water at full rate it’s likely OK.

You should consider a sureflow accumulator tank to take some strain off the pump.

I installed mine under the kitchen sink. Plug and play.
