Thetford waste valve replacement

I’m replacing Thetford waste valve. Flat stainless steel backed body marked 01447/ T 1169. Decided on going Thetford instead of converting to Valterra until total system replacement next year. Gotta hit the road!

Valve attaches to original fiberglass black water tank using glass on Thetford flange (01662, VTS-895).
I find photos and old threads indicating 3/8” greater thickness difference in some new Thetford valves.
Which modern model Thetford valve will directly replace old stainless backed model attaching to the tank flange and reuse original slip fit Y connector?
VTS lists valves for sale:
08706 (VTS 339)
08707 (VTS 589)

Has anyone directly replaced old Thetford valve with new Thetford valve and had EVERYthing else stock line up?

Just curious how this turned out, as I have removed the grey and black tanks from my 77 Sovereign, and want to install 2 new Valterra valves. The valve is readily available, but the "slip hub" to fit and clamp in to the tank opening has a different Outer Dimension.

Is it possible to convert to Valterra's? Does anyone know where to get the proper diameter slip hub?

My valves are shot. The screws are rusted and the plastic is cracked and cannot be rebuilt.

Thanks...

I just replaced the original Thetford valve for the black water tank on my '74 Argosy. I used the Thetford valve #08669 which I purchased from. www.rvplus.com I fit the same as the original.

Thanks... I know the Thetford is readily available. Was curious if anyone changed over to the Valterra valve and how they connected it directly to the tank.

Just in case anyone is interested... I answered my own question.

The Valterra valves have 2 slip hubs that bolt on. The side that is to go in to my AI (Airstream Issued) tank is too large. Valterra does not carry any type of reducer to fit the 3.5" ID of the neck of the tank.

I purchased the valve and slip hubs anyway, and headed for the big box home improvement stores. As it turns out, simply cutting a small section of 3" pvc/abs and adding it to the back of the valve makes for the perfect connection to the tank. The only caveat is that the valve will be about 1-1/2" further out than it was before. Plenty of clearance where it will come up through the floor, but will take some finagling to align to the hole in the side frame.

I will be changing out the valve on the grey tank as well. Both Valterra valves, including the hubs, are less expensive than one Thetford replacement valve. They also have bolts to disassemble rather than screws wound in to plastic that can crack, as was the case with my original valves. Changing the seal is simple and does not require disassembling the valve.

Can you please explain how the 3" attaches to the tank?

Or a pic.

If you just look at the picture of the tank, that is where the white pvc would go in. There will also be a hose clamp... That simple.
