The Mysterious Drain Spout

Now - I’m sure once the answer is uncovered, I’ll feel like an idiot - however - I noticed last night that when hooked up to city water and the spigot ON water was draining from this spout. (See pic.) It’s not my line drains, not my fresh water tank drains. Thought it may be the condensation line from the ACs - but can’t figure out how that’d connect to city inlet. Resides towards the front of the AS, in the middle, right behind the sewer hose storage.

This is a 2019 AS Classic RBQ - can’t find what this drain runs to in the manual. It only happens when connected to city water and while on.

I still get water into the Airstream faucets/showers/etc. - but can’t get the draining to stop.

FWIW - when I fill the fresh water tank the spout does NOT drain. Only when connected at the city inlet.

Appreciate anyone’s thoughts on how to stop the drainage. Probably frowned on to have big puddles forming under your trailer at the RV parks I’ve got booked the next couple of weeks.

Looks like your low-point drain. Used to drain your fresh line when winterizing. Different from your fresh water tank drain.

In my rig the valve is located under the bench, under the floor. Very hard to reach for me. Hope it's easier for you.

That is probably the low point drain for the cold side of your bathroom faucets. Look for a valve inside the cabinets or under the beds/seats inside the trailer. Mine is under one of the twin beds.

With the onboard pump turned on and the city water connection off, does the water still flow out? If so, then it is likely a low point drain valve not fully closed. If not, then it could be a high pressure relief valve that is defective or set to open at a pressure lower than your city water pressure.

Similar Issue on Airstream Atlas

We are having a similar issue in a 2023 Airstream Atlas. We cannot fill the fresh water beyond 35% and water pouring out these mystery pipes.

Coming back for an update - my issue for the drainage was a fail safe due to too much water pressure. After talking with Tanner at essentially streaming and adding a water pressure regulator, the issue stopped.

I was betting on the embedded regulator that Airstream had installed in the inlet.

Not good enough.
