so confused!!!
We just brought home our 1975 land yacht. And over the week we have been hooking everything out to test it. We hooked up our water this morning and water is coming out of all faucets but where in the world is it going to? I looked under the trailer thinking that this model did not have a grey water tank but I do not see any water coming out. Thanks for your help.

It is my understanding that you would have a single holding tank with both "grey" and "black" water in it. Have you tried checking or dumping the black tank to see if that is where it went?
On another note, GA has a very active WBCCI unit with a campground just around the mountain from you in Helen. Please come out and join us. The members are friendly, and it would give you a chance to get questions answered about you Airstream ans well as see what others have done with theirs.

Most likely the black tank. If its a combo black/grey tank it all goes to the same place. I'm jealous, mines still In storage.

You are indeed confused- your 1975 Sovereign would typically have a grey tank. I suggest you get an owners manual to help you with the basic functions of your new trailer.

The guy we bought it from I thought had indicated it did not.... I may have misunderstood. Can someone tell me how to empty the black tank. I am a little frustrated because my darling husband has all but given up so I am kinda on my own.

you do have a grey tank. airstream started installing them in 1974 models.
Have you found the waste water outlet?
On a center bath model it will be below the belly just aft of the rear axle on the roadside. On a rear bath model it will be roadside right near the rear bumper.
You will find two dump valves. The larger valve will be for the black water from the toilet and the smaller one will be for the grey water. On the rear bath models the valves are inside the rear storage compartment.

I had no idea about group in Helen. We are only a few miles from there. Where is it located. I would love to talk to someone that could help me and show m what to do. Also looks like we have some tail droop.

Do you have a rear bath or center bath trailer?
To check for "tail droop" or rear end seperation as it is called jump up and down on the rear bumper and watch for movement between the shell and the bumper. If you do indeed have seperation it can be repaired but it involves quite a bit of work especially on rear bath models.

On my 75 TW the grey tank valve handle is located next to the sewer outlet and the black tank valve handle is located inside the rear bumper storage compartment. On the control center the black tank is called the main and the grey is called the aux.

If you don't have the owners manual maybe you could call Airstream and see if you can buy one. It's confusing at first but take your time and there are lots of people on here willing to help you. Sorry I can't be of more help but I don't know much about the vintage units but plenty of people do. Have fun with the learning process and someday you will be giving advise to the new bee.

Welcome to the forum-- you are getting some great advice! Definitely check out Top of Georgia-- I am envious that you are so close to that amazing resource-- we are not terribly far either, a couple of hours, and we are hoping to visit soon.

I'm not sure anyone made it clear but you will need to have a hose hooked up to a dump site before you start pulling any handles, especially the black tank
I bought a CD manual from a Canandian member that list here or on EBAY.

Thanks so much everyone. I called up to the top of Georgia park in Helen and they were wonderful. They invited me up and they showed me on one of their trailers how to work everything. Now I just have to figure out how to hook the toilet back up. Once I do that I will be back in business.
