Plumbing Problems

I have a Bambi Sport 16.
On a trip and haven't used Bambi since December last year.
Having trouble with the water system.
Two questions:
1. When I use city water the fresh water tank is filling to overflow. Found water dripping out of the overflow at the fill point. Is the city water supposed to fill the fresh water tank. Also why is it filling so much.
2. When I use the water from the fresh water tank (city water shut off) pump is noisy and there is also a clicking sound. Pump is a Shurflo. Checked the filter and it is clean. Also made sure the connectors to the pump are tight.
Also checked the city water pressure 40 psi.
Bambi is 2 years old. Never been worked on. Never any problems previously. Just been sat for 6 months stored in a warehouse.
Appreciate comments and thanks.

Search the forum on water pump backflow (or check) valve and you will find a lot of relevant discussion. What is happening for you is typical of that valve malfunctioning.

Get the shurflo kit and replace the head on your pump. No need to replace the pump unless it's failed just the head. If you've already replaced the pump get a couple of the head kits and keep them. You'll need them again.

One way valve...

Get a one way valve and install it on the output side of your waterpump. You'll need a 1/2" female to female coupler and a male to male coupler. You can get the kit to fix your waterpump valve but this is easier and will probaly last a lot longer IMO.
