Inside Showerhead Holder hack?
Does anyone have a trick for keeping the inside showerhead in the holder during travel? Mine keeps jumping out of the holder when we hit a bump and then bangs around in the shower. Right now I take it out of the holder before we embark and lay it on the floor in a thick padded oven mitt to keep it from breaking – but it would be great if I could come up with clip or restraining strap on the holder and stop the nonsense. I’m changing the head to an Oxygenics spa fixture, but using the same hose and holder that came in the AS. I don’t want to break another plastic shutoff valve by slamming it around during travel.

Sounds like it doesn't fit tight.... If the fit is close, you could knurl the rod a bit using a sharp knife to put a diamond cross hatch pattern on it. You could add a set screw. You could increase the rod size by clear coating it with plastikote spray paint.
I'd try the paint first. knurling will eventually collect stains you might not like and messing with a set screw may be annoying.
Edit: the post and hole are supposed to be cone shaped so as you push it down it gets tight. Perhaps yours lost its shape.

I use a Command Cord Bundler - my showerhead would always tip over and the spray would point down (after I installed the Oxygenic spray head) so I added the Command strap and it works great. Keeps it from drooping and/or bouncing during travel.
Here's the item: https://www.command.com/3M/en_US/com...4780016&rt=rud

Thanks for the replies and suggestions. KCurtis, I used to do the towel wrap, too . THANKS LBOskiBear for the clever suggestion and link to cord bundler. Looks like that might do the trick since I want to be able to take wand down easily during shower but make sure it stays put during travel. Should that fail for my needs, Brian, you’ve given me other interesting alternatives to try. Thank you all.

I know we're going to have the same problem. I haven't tried it yet, but I was thinking of putting either some electrical tape or 1 inch heat shrink on the hose/shower head connection to see if that helped hold it in place.
As for shower heads, we tested out a couple (both Oxygenics) in our house as we were still finishing up our restoration. The Body Spa was just ok in my opinion. It seemed to take more water to get soap off, and I didn't like the single spray. The other was the Fury (92185), much better use of spray, took less time to clean soap off, plus there are 5 spray choices. We also got a metal hose replacement for the crappy plastic hose, and I think that's why the handle doesn't fit the holder well.

We put ours on the floor ever since we when to the Oxygenics Shower head (great water conserving shower) which is top heavy and never stays in the hold when on the road.

Thanks for the shower mitt suggestion. Seems like a simple idea. We’ve been laying it on the shower floor and therefore not experienced any issues. Besides, bouncing around hanging on the thin plastic shower-wall is probably hard on the hanger and the wall.
