Drip, drip, drip. Or not to drip?
Subfreezing temperatures is CO with a Camco water hose heater, ( https://www.amazon.com/Camco-22911-H...ot+hose+freeze ) we are told that we still should leave the city water drip at all times so water won't freeze. Anyone with knowledge on this?

SOP in Yellowstone. Your choices are basically to do the drip routine or to unhook your fresh water line and use your internal tank until the temps moderate.

Recommendation if disconnecting the hose to bring it inside. They are very hard to handle in freezing temps.

Systems on well water may not allow drip.

Dripping is of no use in real cold. I have seen Niagara Falls freeze over

I have a pond in my yard that runs 24/7. While the waterfall does get ice on it, the water keeps flowing into the pond. Moving water won't totally freeze.

It pays to know exactly where all your piping is so you can take appropriate action.

Please make sure if you decide to drip that your grey valve is open and your sewer hose can handle it. You need a good, even slope with no dips or the sewer will freeze up at those temperatures. Been watching my neighbor with his propane blower for the last two days trying to get his unthawed. If the sewer freezes the water backs up and will flood inside if you don't catch it in time. My neighbor has a tub full of stinky water he has been scooping out. If you are going to be in one place for a while you might want to go with solid drain pipe. It helps a lot. Also watch what faucet you drip as some trailers run their bathroom sinks into the black tank. That can be a REAL disaster.

If very cold a drip will freeze, a slow steady stream will keep running, found out in a trailer house I lived in....

Depends on the temp of the source water. For Niagara, the upstream water could be at or near 32deg. For dripping at a camp site, the upstream water could be quite a bit warmer if sourced from underground pipes.
