DIY pressure test & 'blow out' valve

I didn't winterize my AS and learned the hard way about ice damage. To diagnose the problem I created a gauge & valve combination, will share the parts list here.

- Can be used as a pressure gauge for leak testing
- May also be used as a 'blow out' air inlet
- No separate ball valve needed to turn off air, regular Shrader valve is used
- Very compact design

- Just screw everything together, use pipe tape
- The gauge has a valve but I just used a dab of epoxy to glue it open. It is NOT a pressure regulator

- Screw it into your fresh water inlet
- Use an air compressor with a tire inflator to pressurize (eg. 30psi, max 40psi)
- Empty your system by opening a faucet

Parts, all from Home Depot

If your air compressor already has a gauge and you have quick connect fittings, something like this is great as well...

edit: but I usually unhook my water pump (and take it inside) and blow from there rather than the city hookup... the best place will vary by trailer setup.
