City Water Inlet Leak

I've got a drip!

Here's what happened:

We went camping 2 weeks ago, since then the Airstream has been in storage. I checked on it yesterday and noticed that it wasn't level enough for my liking. So I lifted the jack maybe 2 inches. Next thing I know the City Water inlet is dripping.

I'm guessing that there was water that steeled the lines, even though we didn't hook up to city water, only used fresh water tank last time we were out. When I raised the trailer that forced the water to drain out the City Water Inlet. I'm assuming there is a check valve of some sort in the inlet itself. Is that the problem? Easy as taking off those 4 screws and replacing the inlet?

I attached a video of the drip.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Hi

There is a (short) distance from the inlet to the check valve / (maybe) pressure regulator. You can get a little water there, no check valve is ever perfect. They also break so it could be a bit less perfect than it once was.

If it's totally gone, turning on the water pump with the plug out of the city inlet (you do have a plug for it ... right ? ) will result in water gushing out the inlet.

If you don't have a plug / cover gizmo for the inlet, that's a really good thing to go get. I will keep road grit, bugs, and who knows what else out of there.

Thanks for the reply Bob. I'm taking the trailer out this weekend and I will try to turn the water pump on and see what happens on the inlet side. Being 10 years old I wouldn't be surprised if the inlet is in need of replacing I suppose. There is a built in cover for it, although I think you may be referencing something more like this? https://www.amazon.com/Bosch-Garden-...rden+hose+plug
