Can’t find the hot water mixing valve
My AS is a 2006 28’ International with the Atwood G6A-8E water heater.
I’m chasing an issue with lack of hot water in the shower. Research here shows that this is problem often fixed by replacing the mixing valve at the water tank. I ordered the valve and went to install it today.
I don’t see the valve!! Does my model and year AS not use a mixing valve?
Pics are attached of my tank and piping setup. I’m feeling a bit chagrined and ignorant now.
I'm not familiar with the specific set-up of your trailer, but generally speaking I thought mixing valves are usually found at the faucet itself - not at the tank. It mixes the hot & cold water closer to the point of contact...

That water heater is not equipped with a mixing valve. My 2013 has one, and it is very visible. The three valves shown (which are used for winterizing) are different than what you get when the tank has a mixing valve.

Well, I don’t feel so “blind” now not finding the mixing valve. I was just surprised to not have one.
I’m also pretty sure that we had lukewarm water temps at the kitchen sink. What I’m going to do now is to dewinterize tomorrow, crank up the water heater, and determine a baseline of what hot water I have and where it is being dispensed.
Once I do that I may be looking at fixtures and cartridge replacements. What I do know is that we leave for the Florida Keys in 2 weeks and a cold shower is not in my wife’s “glamping” future.
As you learned, older models didn't have a mixing valve and operate with lower temperatures and thus capacities as a result. 130 F is considered the the point where water can scald skin so you should have 130 -140 F water in the tank. Good luck.
