Burst hot water heater hose

Made a mess until i could shut off the water. Noticed it first while sitting outside, water coming out of the hot water drain. Replaced with hardware store hose. Before and after pix below.

Good fix. I am surprised the threads were compatible. Do you have a water pressure regulator and does it work? These RV water heaters heat water very hot and plastics don't like that.
