68 ambassador bathroom starting point - bathroom renovation

Hey Everyone,

Finally starting my project and the first step is proving to be the hardest.
Figured I'd begin with the bathroom
A little back story.
The 68 ambassador I bought has a lot of systems in place just not hooked up.
New: water pump, furnace, hot water heater, black tank, porcelain throne and tub.

And here is what I'm looking at:
airstream - Album on Imgur

My plan of attack is to get the plumbing hooked up and tested.
Clean the existing plastic walls (what type of plastic is this??? best way to clean/paint)
Then get the toilet and shower lines into the black tank.
Then put in the new toilet and tub.
Then "build out" a bathroom using kerdi (hardy) board and tile.
Then try to clean/paint and reinstall existing sink and vanity (this looks like different plastic. Best way to clean and paint???)

I'm planning on kind of emulating this guy
The Bathroom - HofArc

But reusing as much of the original as I can.

I'm starting tomorrow. Any pointers would be really helpful.
Thanks

Day 2

So got the base for the throne set up.
Got the framework for the tub in.
Cleaned and wet sanded the cabinet and sink.
Doing a retro bright test on the cabinet unit. (could only find Hydrogen peroxide that was 3%)
Did a krylon fusion test on a scrap piece of plastic. (not very impressed.)
Tomorrow plumb in the toilet and tub.
Get started on pex.
find some tile.
