‘63 Sovereign

I have my grandparents ‘63 Sovereign. The Airstream has been in storage since 1978. I have very little expertise. What do I need to do to get the plumbing going. Yes I realize everything should be converted to plex. But what if I want to just see where I’m at as is?

I know the water heater doesn’t work. There’s no instruction manual. I know it has some sort of air pressure system. I think there is an electric water pump under the kitchen sink? I know where the hose connects for incoming water. I know where the black tank drains. I know I’m going to need a blue boy for gray water.

I’m not doing a complete restoration. It’s in good condition and no floor rot. I’m willing to upgrade plumbing as necessary. Am I going about this the wrong way? Probably.

I need to know what steps to take in order to test the plumbing.

If it has the original oven, heads up that the pilot light is "on" anytime the gas is on. There is a valve under the stove top that shuts off the gas. Unfortunately if you want to use the stovetop, the oven pilot will be on also. It's a 'one year only' unit. I wouldn't call it collectible but might me desirable if you want it to stay original.
Early trailers used a pressurized tank to hold water. An air pump built up pressure or the fill cap may have a hose connection that fills and pressurized at the same time.
If it was stored without water in the pipes (highly unlikely) you might be able to hook up a hose and see what happens. Have someone standing by to turn off the water, it's probably going to leak from busted pipes.
