value needed please ebay GT.

Would like to know value of this unit, is the buy it now within reason? Only thing that concerns me is the axle has not been replaced and I know this is not a cheap fix down the road. Thanks for your input.

Looks like the current value is high bid of $20,100.

Who would know if that's a fair value without someone inspecting it? The forum may have a volunteer inspector in the area who would graciously take a look. I've purchased two sight unseen. One, I got very lucky. The second, not so much. The second I purchased with a shell off full monty in mind, so it didn't matter too much.
Probably not what you wanted to hear.

Based on the information that this trailer has had a shell-off, and a complete rebuild, I would say that the BIN price is reasonable. You can see that the bidding is approaching the BIN price, so this would suggest that the "market" agrees. That being said, it is strange that anyone would do such a massive rebuild and not replace the axle, but the truth is that a single axle will only cost you around $700 delivered, and it is a "bolt-on" installation with very little requirement for special skills or tools.

With any repair work, it is difficult to tell from the pictures just how good of a job the DIYer did. I don't think I would pay $25k for a trailer sight unseen, and if you don't have a good understanding of how these trailers are constructed, and what "good" looks like in terms of a rebuild, you should either get good and educated, or take someone with experience/credentials with you to help evaluate the rebuild.

Good luck!

As a ten year student of Airstreams on this forum, and seven years rebuilding a 68GT

To me, it's a pathetic collage of ignorance and cheap box-store junk.

The short list…

Cheapest off the shelf post-form Home Depot counters, 120V only dorm fridge.

Single bed up front, but room for a queen… How is that possible?

Chintzy cook-top, no range hood or vent.

Cheapest faucets Home Depot sells.

Allure floor shows seams already separating.

Rather than rebuilding the original Corning windows, half of them instead sealed and screwed permanently closed with plastic panes.. ridiculous...

Cheap barbecue steel propane tanks.

No toe-kick at kitchen cabinets, you kick the converter instead... Clever..

Added insulation”?? where, what, and how?

No heating system, save for “can be added heat-strip” which should never be tied to aluminum wiring..

Weights published are not documented. Riding very heavy on axle. Excessive axle compression is obvious. Affirms that money was spent in wrong places. “New 12ply tires”? I doubt it.

How does 70gallons of waste water and no freshwater tank make sense?

Look at the pictures!! Rear hatch jamb shows 1” over three feet out of square/level to trailer frame. How does that happen if you're doing things right??? Something is seriously very very wrong there.

Pictures of the “fluff”, but not what you need to know, like frame repairs, tank configuration, assessment of original aluminum wiring tied to new copper…

From what I can see in eBay photos, I'd be very concerned about what I can't see.

Aside from the Bambi BS, seller may be a nice, honest, hard working guy, but $24,500 for his first-time amateur disaster? I would never pay for his low quality interpretation of “Looks like New” restoration. To me, it still has its $5,000 re-buildable core value. I'd have to gut it and start over.

Can't say that all the “$11,000 in new parts” were miss-spent, it does have a magazine rack…

Let the fools who bid on this have it.

I'm a bit dumbfounded, maybe my 68GT is worth way more than I think??

Me too!

Also:
-water heater door appears to be just painted grey, not aluminum.
-needs a rock guard on front window.
-dump valves hanging too low to be that far back on the trailer. They look far too exposed to me.

And, it appears to my untrained eye, that the microwave is at floor level... now, that's handy!
