Can someone help?

My wife and I are getting ready to pull the trigger on a 1969 or 70 Globetrotter Land Yacht that is in really good shape. I have a question about the serial number...it starts with a "B." I've looked at all the ways to decode the serial numbers and their is nothing that I've found giving guidance on the first letter being a "B." Can anyone shed light on that for me. The plate says manufactured 11 69, but the 5th digit in SN is 0.

Q: How do I decipher the serial number on my trailer to determine the year made?
A: Serial numbers weren’t standardized until the mid 1960’s. I’ve captured these early formats in the info under each model type in the photo archive section.
For late model trailers:
1969 to 1980
Digit 1 = I – International; L – Land Yacht; E – Excella
Digit 2&3 = Length
Digit 4 =
A – Center bath twin beds
B – Center bath double bed
D – Rear Bath double bed
T – Rear bath twin
Digit 5 = Model year
Digit 6 =
J – Jackson Center, OH
S – Cerritos, CA
V – Versailles, OH (Argosy)
Digit 7-10 = Sequential serial number -3 Digits 1966-1969, 4 digits 1970+


ps: the 1970 models could have been built in the late summer and/or fall of 1969, just like the vehicles sold these days.

thank you and that is the exact information that I found when I researched it but I have found nothing that gives information about the first letter being a "B"

Ok - well I have found on vintageairstream.com that the 1970 Globetrotter did start SN's with a "B" but they also had 4 sequential numbers at the end. 1969 did not start with "B" but had 3 sequential numbers at the end, so I guess i got the best of both years! LOL!

Somebody made a mistake? Those ID plates are made by hand.
