Ball size

Ok so I have posted a few things on here with great success. Thank you to everyone again and we are very close to getting our trailer on the road. I have been pulling it around using a 2 inch ball. I have started to read that from 1969 and up used a 2 5/16? So can anyone give me definitive answer for my 1969 21 foot GT please? I have both...just need to know which one.

Thank you

I have a 1969 ambassador.. It is a 2 inch ball. The ball size should be stamped into the coupler.
I also have a 70 Globetrotter. It is a 2 5/16 ball so it would be reasonable to assume that the change was made in 1970.

You could try putting a 2 5/16 into the coupler to see if it fits but I suspect you are right on the 2 inch

If you go to a 'trailer' supply, you will find they will offer to LOAN you a 2 5/16" ball to 'test' your trailer...

I would then make THEM my supplier for everything I can buy from them...for towing my trailer... it has been very helpful for me...

Our '69 Tradewind has a 2" ball
So are 4 of my other trailers

BUT there is always an exception, My Cargo trailer has a 2 5/16" ball .

I know , I know , I should go stand in the corner and think about my obsession with trailers
