Zittle

I have started to write this several times in the last few weeks. Finding the right words is not easy. Mark Twain said it best: "she was my treasure, now she is gone and I am a pauper." My bride of 41 years has left this earth for the next adventure. On this forum she was Zittle with only two posts. Karen, fought a battle with Melanoma and died with family nearby on July 30. Karen enjoyed camping in the Minuet and bristled when I suggested we sell it to get something a little larger. Getting something larger was OK with her, but not selling the Minuet. We had planned a two week trip to SD, and WY early September. I decided to stick to the plan, visited with friends and family to the North. It was a relaxing and healing time.

Most of our camping was boon docking as we both enjoy the quiet. The one campground visited more than once is the City campground in Spearfish SD and the Minuet has been there every September for the last 7 years. Sometimes Karen was able to join me and other years I went alone. I always found a spot near the water. Camping alone is relaxing to be sure but not near as much fun.

The attached photo is out the door of the Minuet while camped in Spearfish.

My heart goes out to you. We never get to choose how much time we have together, I'm glad you have so many memories of time spent together in your Minuet.

Very sorry for your loss. I hope Karen finds the perfect spot for a heavenly Minuet and someday you both find each other in that next great adventure. My prayers are with you both.

Royce, I am sorry for your loss. Some say there is nothing more healing for the soul than quite time spent in nature.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss.

I may be wrong, but I think I understand your reluctance to post this -- the act of writing about it makes it so much more final. I haven't lost my soul mate, but I have lost my mother and a sister; I can only speak from my experiences.

God bless; peace be with you.

It must be hard to open up to strangers, but you touch many. There are common bonds.

Thank you for writing.
