your trailer Log

I've been using Microsoft Word to log my travels & experiences with Ophelia, the Silver Olive. Now I've made a hard/paper copy of my log and can't find a binder that I really like - as even the leather 3-ring binders are fairly industrial looking. Has anyone found a nice type of binder to keep your log/jounal in?

You might try checking into a photo binder. They come in all types of sizes, and have a good selection of different materials that they are covered with. Plus more of homey feel to them.

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle

The only thing that I can suggest is going to Michaels or a scrapbooking
place and see what they might have there.

I also keep a detailed log for Lucy, and I was wondering what information you are recording. I am keeping:

- Dates of travel

- Miles travel by Lucy on a particular day

- Locations stopped

- Route of travel

- Campground or overnight stop with impressions

- Maintenance issues including repairs, flat tires, parts purchases, etc.

- Periods of storage

I use https://store.airstream.com/product_...products_id=72 from the Airstream Store. With the aluminum outer covers, it's durable and compact -- great for recording my traveling days in numerical sequence with dates, mileage, MPG, location and a short narrative of what we did. It's not a good size for journaling. It's great to have an easy to tabulate source for miles traveled so you can pack your bearings every 10K miles. A day traveled with home as my final destination usually doesn't have much narrative, so I get maybe 4-5 entries per page. I'm up to trip 90 and have only used about a quarter of the book.

I have a bit of trouble being *brief*. I'm up to 30 TYPED 8x10 pages for just about 45 days of camping!!!

Brian,
Thanks for the ideas on what you're recording. Mine is similar, but thus far, I'm only traveling to/from particular campgrounds:

- Dates of travel

- RT Miles of trip

- Route of travel

- Campground with impressions and a short list of facilities availble (for future reference) and the site $$$

- List of all the folks that I'm camping with - and their pets/animals

- number of bottles wine consumed

- types of wood burned in the campfire (Australian Pine being the most difficult so far)

- Maintenance issues including repairs & parts purchases with associated costs and place of purchase, etc.

Mine reads more like a diary than a log I guess.... and I try to include some pictures as well.

I'll attach the start of my most recent entry. No joke --- I'm not a creative writer!

Mary - you hit the nail on the head: I just find a Post-Bound Binder. It looks pretty interesting and is used for scrapbooking!
