Funny you should happen to mention that.......................... , that was the joke of the neighbors when they would be out back visiting and look in to see Cricket sacked out on the bed.

"Where or When?"

That's the name of the jazz tune that iPhoto attached from iTunes to the slideshow of our maiden voyage in our Airstream. Apple computers are much smarter and perceptive than we humans realize!!!

Ours is SilverToy!

Hello all -

Having never owned an AirStream before, we picked our 34 Classic Limited up in SLC Utah. My then 4 y/o son kept looking out the back of the TV - "Kelly", the green 'Burb - to be sure that the trailer was back there.....

I asked him, "Max, what are you looking at?"

Says Max, "Just checking that "SilverToy" is still back there...."

SilverToy it is! Thanks Max!

Our TV is "Savannah" (Wife's home) thus, the AS is "Tybee" for Tybee Island (also known as Savannah Beach)

We named ours "Eh Boux" (ay-boo) after a common expression in South Louisiana "Hey Boo!". We call everybody "Boo"...How you feel Boo? What's up Boo? Hey Boo, get me a beer!

You may want to be cautious of the Can Opener rally with a name like yours.........

Our previous Airstream was named Ol' Bessie. I wanted to stick with the "B" names when I bought the next trailer. After all the water problems, toothbrush problems, rotten floor problems that I dealt with after purchasing my "new" trailer, I almost named it "The B**ch". However, trying to be a good example to my family, I didn't think that was appropriate. I chose the MALE name "Brutis", because it's a big beast! I am growing to love him a bit more, and may forgive him someday!

Our's isn't named. But I wonder what reactions I might get if I put any of the following on a plate; Mohamed, Jeff Gordon, Hilary. All just letters in the alphabet.

After placing the order for our Airstream in early '05, we started thinking about a name and we came up with Hi Yo Silver, Away. I am some of you will remember those as the words of the Lone Ranger before he and Tonto would gallop off in pursuit of another adventure. We chose it because we planned to use our Airstream to load up and get away from home to see our vast & wonderful country.

Holy cow! Another Stella.
I think I've told this story before ... but after my 1967 Safari's third window blew out and two compartment doors, I was so sick of crying over the trailer. I wanted something period-appropriate but calming and not self-destructive (which is why Marilyn got nixed).

I talked with my friend Sue about serendipity and being open to suggestion. Sure enough, the next day in a Salt Lake City spa, a gay masseuse walked up and said, "Is either of you named Stella?" No ... but that's a good name!

I only found out a month later that Wally's wife was named Stella.

Ever since she got her name, she hasn't lost another piece.

Stella,

Nice to meet you, hopefully our "Stella"s can meet at International- if you are in Wyoming you are so close. We are caravanning out to international with both our trailers and were planning on spending a few days in Jackson, WY - any suggestions on a good trailer park?

Thanks,
April

The Caravan Scout

When I owned Wally's Gold Trailer, it had the name of "Caravan Scout".

There is a double meaning.

Caravan was for Wally's 52 foot yacht, Caravan.

Scout was my duties on the 1959 African Carvan.

BizCamp is what the License Plate says. Since it is a Basecamp and my nickname is Biz and the maximum allowed spaces for a trailer plate in VA. is seven...there it is

BizCamps in the BaseCamp.

Silver Schooner

I'm picking up my new Safari 28 next week and going to call her The Silver Schooner - I've spent a lot of time messing about in boats - covered wagons were called prarie schooners - and I plan to do a lot of asphalt sailing all over the country with her. Maybe I should spell it the way it's pronounced in northern New England - schoonaah!
