XM Roady2 Tip

I have a XM radio with a Roady2 in Chummy. The unit is now almost three years old and we just love it. Our son bought us a boombox by Cambridge which is a great compliment to play the music in the house. Recently the XM would not turn on in Chummy. I checked all the wires and even replaced the 12 to 6 volt plug. I still could not get it to work but it played fine on the boom box.
Then I found a forum like this one for XM radio owners. http://www.xm411.com/
I placed a posting with my problem and got a quick reply with the answer. I want to share it in case someone else is having the same problem. Seems that the small plastic tip on the power plug will come loose and lodge itself inside the Roady2. This happens if you unplug the unit often. Well when we got the boom box we unplugged it for the boom box and sure enough the plastic tip was broken off on the power plug of the boom box. The solution is to simply cut off, with a razor, the plastic tip on all the power plugs you use. Now the XM plays like a dream.
I love these forums!

Kent, you have become a master of electrical problems. (The hard way!)
