There is always something interesting on this thread. Thanks again to the OP and all the contributors.
Here's a 1985 video of the song Maggot Brain. I don't know all the details of the origins of the song, the title is certainly unusual, and I don't understand the poetry/commentary in the first 1:45 of the video. Putting that aside, the instrumental is certainly notable for the time. The song was written in 1971.
There's an eerie, other-worldly, out-of-body sound to the guitar. The song has been covered by many musicians over the years. Be sure to check out the violin version below - it gives me chills.
