What's in a name?

I love that everyone here has such affection for their Airstream to give it a name. And deserving of names they are!
Ours is 'The Mod Pod'.

So let's hear everyone's TT names and any fun story that explains the name.
Pictures are great too!

My little Bambi II has still not let me know what she wants to be called.

It came to us with the current color scheme so we call her 'The Turd'.

What's in a name?

My 1978 Argosy Minuet 6.0 Metre is known as Mini and her tow vehicle, my 1975 Cadillac Eldorado Convertible is known as Murphy. Mini is self-descriptive, but the tow vehicle is Murphy after Murphy's Law as the first several years that I owned the car each trip was a new experience with Murphy's Law.

My 1964 Overlander Land Yacht International is known as Miss Mary and her tow vehicle, my 1999 GMC K2500 Suburban is known as Lancaster. The Overlander's name honors her first owners Mary and John who special ordered her new (she was Mary's all-time favorite Airstream of the three that they owned) . . . and Mary and John introduced me to camping/Airstreaming in 1964 when I was five years old and the coach was new. The Suburban acquired its name because I ordered it new from Pioneer Motors in Lancaster, Wisconsin.

We have a '67 Safari that we bought last weekend. The drive home was 4 hours - a long drive with 4 and 5 year old boys in the backseat. "Stella" came to mind first which the boys immediately changed to "Stellaluna" - a favorite book. We've had one more revision since then and she's now called "StellAluminum." We've only had her a week, but I'm thinking we'll revert back to Stella at some point.

Maybe you could add a brown stripe at the top and then call it "Oreo".
Or a pink stripe and call it "Neopolitan".
Yummy ideas!

Our AS is affectionatley named Ellie Mae.
When we first went to take a look, I said Maybelline just jumped out at me when I first laid eyes on her. We talked to the owner for a long time, well then his wife stepped out and said Hi, I'm Mae - that synched the deal really ... we felt about like the Clampetts, striking oil (or silver) after so many old and ancient campers, so Ellie Mae it was and is ... I was born and raised in Winnipeg, where the prairie is as flat as a table top, and an awful long way from the sea. My dad went to sea and his grandfather went to sea. I read Farley Mowat's "The boat who wouldn't float" and dreamed of the Atlantic but work kept me marooned on the prairie in Alberta. So, you work with what you got. Hence, the "Prairie Schooner". Sometimes, when her running gear was acting up, she was called the Aluminum Pig. She died recently, and I am waiting for the delivery of a Signature. Prairie Schooner II.

When we were trying to learn how to use the bluetooth I plugged my Iphone into it and the first song that came up was "The Weight" by the Band. While not gender specific the name stuck. I think there is a similiar thread floating around about names but I couldn't find it. BTW I heard that Levon Helm who sang the song recently passed away. RIP.

I thought the same thing so did a little investigating:

Trailer Names . . . started by John Irwin . . . June 14, 2002

Trailer names . . . started by Paul_K . . . November 9, 2002

The second was the more prolific of the two.

Dan, Thanks. I knew I saw this before. It's funny how we personalize and coddle these seemingly inatimate objects. But I sure love mine.

I did search for a 'names' thread, but didn't find one, which I thought was strange. Those other threads are 10 years old!
