What was the worst thing you ever got in your Christmas Stocking?

Here is a good thread for the season.....
One Christmas morning I went to see what Santa had left me in my stocking. Low and behold at the bottom, in the toe was a big potato. I was momentarily stunned while those around be had a good belly laugh. I then asked my Mom if I could use the deep fat fryer to make french fries out of that baker. It was amazing how many of those who were laughing wanted to sample the tasty morsels.

What was the worst thing you ever got in your stocking, or was I the only one who tried my parents patience?

I hope you do better than that this Christmas.

Red face It was a joke but...

A lump of charcoal and a stick. One of my elder relatives was from Newcastle Upon Tyne, England, and it was apparently very funny to all the adults.

No wierder than me, I guess. I like fruitcake, too, but only one per year, and it has to be a Claxton's.

When I was a kid, I got a little Honda motorbike called a Trail 70 for Christmas. It was stuffed into the biggest red and white trimmed stocking I've ever seen. (My mom still has that stocking.) That was one DURABLE little motorcycle. It endured me and my sister, and then it was sold to a preacher down the road who had eight kids. For years afterward I'd ride by and see one of the kids zooming around the goat pasture on the little red motorcycle. I've lost track of it now, but I prefer to think that it's being handed down to the growing new generation still and it's new family regards it with affection.

And my sister gave me a lump of coal several years ago. Actually, it was a barbeque brisket and she told me to THINK of it as a lump of coal.

Neil, my sister is wierder than you and me both.

I like fruitcake, too, I just can no longer eat it. But, a 4 year old fruitcake? I could have used the pieces as hockey pucks...

A buddy gave me a bottle of Lemon Gin. He and I sat down that evening to try it having never tasted it before and gee, it tasted quite good. We drank the whole bottle. Neither of us were much for drinking. We spent a large portion of the rest of that night and the next day very ill. I still get the heebie jeebies when I think of lemon gin. Oh yeah, I also don't drink now so maybe it wasn't that bad a gift after all......

Merry Christmas

My wife and I use the stockings for chepo gag gifts. I think we enjoy the dumb stuff more sometimes. One year we both did Silly Sring and had a blast.
