Today, I made a solar Hot Water heater for my outside shower, (next to the pool) ... I used a section of 4"x 4' long PVC pipe, capped the ends. Then drilled out the end caps, and glued in 1/2" threaded PVC S-80 fittings. Painted it black and installed on the backside of the shower pole. Looks like it may give me 20 minutes of hot water on a warm day.

Replaced the water pump on our tow vehicle - there was a minor leak at the shaft. All in all it was a relatively straightforward project but required a second trip for additional coolant and a new hose fitting. What's a home project without multiple trips?
On a related note I decided to replace the heater hose connector at the intake manifold - it had a very minor leak and several mechanics indicated the connectors fail in a catastrophic manner at the worst possible time. I was not familiar with this type of push-on connector - I guess it gives the mechanics an easy way to flush a system.

Sorry if this was misleading; the INSIDE skins. Walls and nose sections I guess is a better way to put it!
Sorry for the confusion!

Last time out we sucked a lot of seaweed and stuff into the Merc, spent the morning flushing and cleaning the cooling system.
Thermostats and poppet valve blocked real good, TGF for working instruments.
....life's not all Airstream.

Taking some time off. It's amazing how much better one can feel physically when stress is lessened.
Am just sitting here in the cool of the evening enjoying a "mocktail."
This stuff is pretty good. Definitely a "must take" on the next roadtrip.
I really like the apple martini flavour.

What did you do today?
Tried one of those 5-Hour Energy Dealies!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DAMN!! They work like gangbusters!! I have heart issues that keep me feeling "punk" ie not a lot of energy / get up 'n go. Well, spent +/- 10 hours on the lawnmower & got a whole lot done, trying to get the place just right for when the '54 Cruiser comes home soon following a total interior renovation. Felt SO damn good to be outside & active, even in the 100 deg heat. Took lots of breaks, drank a whole lot of cold water - didn't overdo. The doctor encouraged me to be more active, so I did, today at least. Gonna go buy a stash of those 5-Hour energy boosters.
Now if I can only shake the ache in my back, and most everywhere else for that matter! All 'n all a great day!! Now if I can just get that vintage Airstream home, so's I can start the polish job.

Believe it or Not
No damage to AS or TV. My daughter lives 1 mile down the road had not one, but two 18" oaks fall on a 6-month old chicken coop.

Took Photos of our Banana Crop
I took some photos of our crop of bananas that our banana trees are producing right now. We currently have 5 large pods of bananas growing. And this is not the first crop this year. This must be the year for growing bananas.

Just finished cutting down some curtains and getting them fit for all windows in my Tradewind except the bathroom and kitchen. Earlier today I swapped out the bathroom faucet and started planning my work exodus from the AS for our trip we leave on Friday. Designed in my head a bunk...trying to decide if I should tackle it tomorrow.

Even though the weather outside was frightful, the inside of the hangar was oh, so delightful.

Redid our taxes today. Second year in a row we've had to redo them, turbo tax not on the menus for us next year. We have really simple taxes, social security, less than 200 dollars in interest and dividend income, yet the Feds want all the info again by mail. Oh well, all will be okay.

You used Turbo Tax and now the Fed wants you to do them again? and send by mail, not e-file? Did Turbo Tax offer any assistance?
I used to do mine myself but after making errors for 3 years in a row I went to Turbo Tax. This year was the only mistake I've seen, they had my state tax refund incorrect when copying to my 2016 return. With my son's college grants, tuition and a few other things, it's made it much easier for me and total cost is under $100 for Fed and state.

I brought my laptop to computer service for some repairments, unfortunately my battery broke yesterday and it stopped to work at all My laptop is 7 years old so now after all this stuff I'm thinking seriously about buying a new one in future
And today I also visitied my parents after service matters, I'm really glad about this because we don't live together anymore and we can't see each other really often because of our work schedules

If the computer battery is dead you should still be able to run your laptop off the adapter plugged into the wall. If the battery is shorted you may need to remove it and then plug in the adapter, but it should still start and run. If not, then either the adapter or the adapter board/circuit in the laptop is bad. Do you have the repair shop's diagnosis of the problem?
You can search Amazon by your battery model number or the computer model. I've ordered several batteries for my laptops (4) and had very good luck with them. I've used the Anker brand, got 2 for this laptop and they aren't very expensive.
One of my computers is pretty old, a Dell Inspiron 1525. I've replaced the battery several times, the LCD screen and the top. It's still going strong.

Hope you recover quickly, Michael. Ice packs to the rescue...
I met a dear friend for coffee, then continued with post-Irma yard cleanup. We got another (unneeded) downpour over the weekend which has slowed down the debris collection and cleanup. So fortunate life and property are intact, however
