We received a hand-operated flashlight with weather radio and about a dozen other features plus a ID sign for Gypsy with vintage AS cartoon, our names, town, state, and a slogan that says "Home is where you park it." So true ~G

suhweet is right.Did it have "86" or "99" DVD's in the collection? It was probably hard to "control" your emotions.Must have been "chaos" when you opened the gift."Would you believe" I would have liked to receive that too.

Is your flashlight a "Safety Cross" Light/radio/cell phone charger/compass/siren?

I got an HP laptop! Now we will have an entertainment center for the AS bedroom, with tv tuner, built in wi-fi, webcam, and a laser imprint writer for our photo dvds. Cool. I feel like a kid with a toy! Now to watch the first season Saturday Night Live.

Mud flaps that slide on my receiver hitch - I've seen them in some other posts - they are going to protect the CCD. I also got a new stereo for the CCD - the 2003 had cassette player and we wanted CD and mp3 player, plusthe new one comes with a remote. Now, I've never replaced a stereo before so this should be fun.

Wally's Book...
I got a beautiful copy of Wally Byam's 1961 book on Trailer Travel, and a new way of adventure...
Amazing reading about his first run into Mexico, and even subsequent runs with no roads, washed out bridges, transmission and tire failures every week, and fewer than half the trailers completing the full trip...
Wally was clearly un-fazed by mechanical or weather or any other setbacks, and his trips certainly qualify under any standard as "Adventure..."
Also a First Aid Survival Backpack from Red Cross, with the same flashlight radio plus water, food, etc for 4 days.. Will probably live in tow vehicle, since Condoluminum is our survival pod for run-of-the-mill emergencies here, like earthquakes or power outages...

Terry installed a 20" LCD flat screen with a DVD player and it's perfect! But now I think we need to have those kayaks Slowolf mentioned. What kind are they? How do you carry them?
And those flashlight gizmos are clearly a must. As is the SNL early-years edition. Uh oh.

If you are talking about the hand-crank flashlight dealie-dooey, here is a photo: If I could just get one that would dump the holding tanks for me, that would be great!

Flamingoes
We camp with two other couples regularly. We bought "official" AS flamingoes from the AS Store for each of us. One couple has this great lighted palm tree...kinda neon looking. The flamingoes will be a nice compliment. We will now have a flock at our campsite.

T-shirts, Levis, socks, pair of aluminum plated ramps to load my Yamaha generator by myself and a 1/2" torque wrench so I can give my son's back to him. I also found out that Altoids now come in Liquorice. Hmmm.

Janet,
Both of the kayaks are fishing kayaks, and have rod holders, tackle boxes, anchors, etc. We plan on using them primarily for fishing on lakes and in the ocean. They are both sit on top kayaks, so we can take them safely in the ocean while wearing wetsuits.
Jan's kayak is a Perception brand and is 12.5 feet long and 30" wide. Mine is an Ocean Kayak brand and is 13' long and 34" wide. Both are carried on the TV's camper shell using a Thule rack system. This works really well with the Airstream and also allows us to carry our bicycles in the back of the truck too. Our toys are only limited by the space to carry them

Airstream jackets, flamingoes, jelly beans, a cuisinart stick blender, a belgium waffle maker, a tote basket - all for the Airstream.
I think we are spreading the bug - all of our relatives and friends get us Airstream stuff !

Thanks Slowolf--great info! Sounds like much fun and since we already have the Thule racks, we should be able to make it work. Terry's bike has to go everywhere!
And Overlander 63, that looks like a pretty compact item for doing so much!
Thanks for the photo!
Janet
