Joe, I don't know of such a tradition for the Chicken Creek Saloon -- never even heard of it before. Interesting knowledge that our membership possesses! My host works at Elmendorf AFB said he had a lieutenant who tacked her skivvies to the ceiling here once upon-a... . So I'll say Rick & 2air' got pretty darn close.

Okay, I'll give the good natured karma awards to all the humorous guessers in this thread. It's been fun. The bar is the tiny old Salty Dawg in end-of-the-road Homer, Alaska. The Bee Hive RV Park about 20 minutes north of Homer is the location of the ol' Airstream sitting out front.

A Minnesota friend and I were up catching the sockeye salmon run on the Kenai River and halibut fishing out of Homer. This pic is right behind the Salty Dawg toward the docks:

Paula, sorry for not making it more clear. Those are halibut in the picture above. They live like flounder and their down side is pure white. Here is a Kenai River sockeye (or red) salmon -- averaging 5-7 pounds; the 2nd run starting soon averages a pound or two heavier.

Their numbers were down and they were much harder to catch -- we caught just nine in 3 hard days of fishing.

Yes Don, I could fly from here to MinneApis...

Rick, it was a Jayco 31' slideout. I don't needs no steenkin' rentals!

The sunburn might say "Georgia" but the clothes say "fishing." (Dig the hat hair!) The penguin is cool... But surely somebody has been in this bar!

Not sure of the bar name but is that Pensacola? - I can't remember the name of the place. The one I have been to is estimated to have over a half million $$$ on the wall.

It would be nice if I caught any salmon -- I got skunked. That's a pic of a friend. We caught 9 and it was all hard work because numbers of fish running were dropping off.

See my post #22 -- It's the Salty Dawg Saloon in Homer, Alaska.

As my late Scottish Mother-In-Law would say, that trailer is the Bees Knees.

Nice fish haul. My largest (to date) is 31 pound Chinook off of Vancouver Island. Bee-utiful place and the fishing was good. The last few years the drop in fish has had quite an impact on the sport fishery here and the warmer water has caused many of the larger fish north. The last few times we were out we also got stung with no salmon, just some good times on the water whiling away the hours soaking up sun and enjoying the scenery.

Bob, Happy Fourth of July! What a great time. Having a new 5 weight built for me as I type. Hope to have it next week. It won't be a problem convincing sandi we need to hit the road with the AS to check out the new rod. Almost flew up there on a dry run but ended up in the absolute other direction to Greenland. Wonderful country, I hope you were able to leave a "note" for a friend!

Rick
