The development of State and National Parks date back to the Depression. It was Wally's generation that preserved the land for us to enjoy.
I see the examples of the rare and indigenous Torrey Pines in the Del Mar photos. These only grow in 2 places in the world, Torrey Pines State Reserve and Santa Rosa Island. R-Alpine, Congressman Duncan Hunter wanted to remove Santa Rosa Island from the Channel Islands National Park and use it as a hunting reserve for his cronies.
