This is pretty cool and exciting. Can't wait to ride in one of these across the country. Just imagine, relaxing in the back while the RV drives itself!
By far the best April fools I have seen this year!!!!

When we lived in Oklahoma there was a story going around that a customer purchased a van in OKC. He got on the Turner turnpike and went back to the back to fix a sandwich after setting the cruise control. Totaled the van according to the story Guess he was about 40-50 years early.....or maybe 60-70???? Pat

That venerable story, in many versions, goes all the way back to the 1970s, when cruise control was first offered as an option on RVs. But as hoaxes go, it is a clear winner. Several major news outlets, including US News and World Report, CNN, and the New York Daily News all fell for the hoax when the story supposedly won a "Stella" award for the most outrageous lawsuit— the award named after the woman who sued McDonald's over spilling scalding hot coffee in her lap, and won.

I used to be an engineer, which meant that it was part of my job to suck the fun out of anything. Including fun but untrue stories. I was a professional stick-in-the-mud, and I still haven't quite broken myself of the habit.

Yup. ON the job the humor, if any, gets really weird. As witness the "Flying Pig" statue prominently displayed in my home office.
It's really cute, with way too small wings, but it spoke to me volumes....
Yeah, engineers don't like surprises either.

Lousy shot, but you get the idea. Found it at a Cracker Barrel in Huntsville, Alabama. Cashier said they sold tons of them to the NASA folks. Since I worked at Marshall Spaceflight Center at one point in my checkered career, it made perfect sense to buy a few, especially since it was on sale at 75% off. We loaded up on them...😀 for scale, it's about 18" nose to tail, made out of ceramic or plaster judging by the weight. I think he's really cute and appropriate.

My grandson, on the phone last evening, was telling me of some "factual articles" from Utube, and how the Orwellian theory is actually in process of 'really happening right now!' I PISH-POSHED the supposed facts of his articles, and he says, "Nana, I'm really surprised, given your extensive education, and career as a nurse, that you don't believe all that is possible"...and he actually began to try to influence me by spouting off more idiotic theories, regarding historical episodes that I have witnessed....first hand ...in my 77 years on this earth. It was scary...the crap these kids get off the internet...that they believe to be real and true. They are taught little to nothing about real historical facts in school, and what is presented to them is usually so overshadowed through the socialist and/or liberal views of their instructors...that it bears minimal resemblance to true history. So sad! Over a two hour conversation, on the phone, last night...sitting in my new AI, "Goliath" I gave my grandson a lengthy and true lesson in history. He is 31, and he said, "Nana, I know you don't lie to me, so I have to believe you. But, I have to ask....why do hey put that stuff on the Internet?" I said, maybe...THEY don't know, either. Maybe, they just make stuff up to confuse people, or just for the hell of it. You believed it, didn't you. He said, yea, I did...I guess that means I'm dumb. I said, no, honey, you're not dumb...just very gullible and naive. He said,I guess I need more history lessons...isn't that what grandparents are for! I had to agree.
The moral of this story...just because it is in print or on a video somewhere does not make it true! Just my2-3-4-5 cents!

It's like the time we were touring the civil war battlefield at Chicamaga (sp), and one of the boys asked, "How did they fight a battle with all these monuments in the way?"
After we adults stopped giggling, we went over some history....particularly about the monuments were put there years after the battles😄😄
And, it's true Shakespeare had a lot to say that's relevant. That's my favorite 'quote' not by him...

Protagonist, now Shakespeare....his writings, will in fact go down in history! That is, if the professors of today and tomorrow don't ban his books....or screw them up, literally in order to reflect their liberal views on the pot smoking students, who will not be inspired by his genius...merely because he is difficult to understand, as their focus is obscured by the MJ. IT SEEMS, ALL THEY NEED TO DO THESE DAYS...IS TO PROTEST...AND THE LITTLE DARLINGS ARE ABLE TO AVOID ANYTHING THEY DON't LIKE.
