I never realized there was such a difference, until I sold my Winne with the onboard Onan, and just bought a dirt cheap 5-k unit for my SOB... I used it once. I was so embarrassed by that thing. I used to run the Onan all the time, and it purred. Never had a complaint. The cheapo, I was camping with one other huge fifth wheel that a friend owned... Fortunately, we were the only people around. I wouldn't have run it in a campground. I've only camped with hookups since then. Will have to buy a couple of the Hondas if we ever try going non-hookup.
