Saw a listing on ebay for a 1963 Avion. Seems the individual went to great lengths to chop down the shell from 22' to 16' because of frame rot. The odd part his reference to building a new frame anyway.

Seems like a forest for the trees issue.

And Sleeping Capacity = "over 8". Wow. That's tight in a 16 footer. Maybe without interior it wouldn't be so bad --- 8 sleeping bags?

That was really a waste of a nice trailer.........
I would have just built a new frame.
I suppose the intent of the shortened trailer was to tow it behind your street rod to the various events.

Having served in the Navy, partly onboard an amphibious ship, I can say with confidence that one can squeeze an amazing number of bodies into a very small space.

Even with the work that has been done, the issue of treared plywood subfloor in the living area of any RV would concern me as I don't believe that I have seen any treated plywood approved for interior use.

I am not sure, but it also looks like the only interior panels that remain are those in the front dome. It looks like the interior aluminum paneling in the rear dome is missing as is almost all of the other interior paneling.

I'm thinking of this purchase but couldn't figure out what type of plywood was used. It only says 3/4 but doesn't say treated, marine, or exterior. I also had a concern because one photo off underside shows some sort of water stain near a seam. Any thoughts are welcome as I have 4 days left to bid.

Hmmm. For a "new" frame, sure has a lot of rust spots on it. Also, the belly pan looks a bit butchered around the streetside front. Probably reused the old plywood... it doesn't look new.

I like the concept, who knows, if it stays cheap.. go for it..
