I'm a little ticked for Caroll Shelby taking my family's coach business name and putting it on a Mustang.

My family operated the King of the Road coach business until the late 70's.

Cheers

That Shelby business s u c k s. I can't really complain as I lifted my avatar from a book that was in the public domain at the time, namely Friedrich Justin Bertuch's 1790 Bilderbuch für Kinder. That may have changed as Alamy now lists the specific image on its website, albeit "royalty free". Possibly the winery paid Alamy for use of the image, although the winery did change it a bit.

I'm not sure how copyright law works. I dabble in genealogy and many, many original published sources of genealogical info are in the public domain BUT if a contemporary person/entity copies that non-copyrightable material into a current publication, the new publication can be copyrighted, and you can't quote the material "in its present form" without permission of the copyright holder even tho the present form reads verbatim of the original.

Anyhow, here's a photo of the actual Phoenix page from Bertuch's Bilderbuch.
