SIGNS... Good, Bad and whoa there cow

Signs are important.

Often a sign may have been placed ten years ago and the road has improved since then. Some times, the sign is accurate.

Often in Ranch Country... a Sign is pulled out and tossed into the brush. Hmmmm. Wonder who would do that?

Sometimes the END of the ROAD is for YOU and the Hereford. Whoa... the Blue Heelers wanted to roll on this one. The water tank... of course, EMPTY. We left. This was in Nevada. Not a Flat Spot to be found and turned around and never came back.

Warning Signs... well, make a Custer Decision and go from there.

Anyone take photos of signs? If so... lets see them.

I apparently have NO MORE space to Post any more photographs on my limited membership for the year. Enjoy the rest of your Boondocking time while you can.

Some people post pictures of tranquil lakes. Others post pictures of dead cows.

One of the interesting things in the west is that cattle almost always have the right-of-way. If we think about the settlement of this part of our country, it often involved ranchers and their herds of cattle being the earlier and or permanent settlers. So, if you see a sign indicating you are in or about the enter "open range," look out for cattle. If you hit it you may own it and be responsible for all associated expenses including the damage to your vehicle(s).

Ray, sign up for a free Gmail or Microsoft email account. You'll get gigs of free storage you can use to post photos online. I don't want to miss out on visual proof of your whacky adventures!

If you have concerns about privacy, just don't use that account for anything else (only public photo posting), don't link it to your mobile device, and be sure to log out of the account when you are done posting new photos.

I saw a sign in East Texas that caught my attention: "All Trespassers Will Be Shot. Survivers Will Be Shot Again"

Not a road sign, but my favorite was, “Trespassers will be experimented upon” on the wall surrounding a creepy cartoon mansion.

Just adding to this observation by saying this is especially true on the Navajo Reservation, near Chinle AZ off of AZ191 where they not only have herds of cattle, but flocking sheep and goats roaming the highways day and night at will. No critter warning signs. Cattle guards are the only clue. Be very careful at night as there is no highway lighting nor edge of road/center line road markers. Did I mention that people also walk in the middle of the road at night with their herds here, no? Yep, they do. Yes this is about as ole west as it gets.

My favorite spotted on one of the San Juan Islands on a sharp residential corner was " Slow Down Bonehead". Wish I had had a camera.
