Rivettes - Berets
I like hats, but a beret - not a good look for me.
Baseball cap? Oh puleez!
Cowgirl look? Not so much.
I was posting on the new cyber unit thread and decided that perhaps the Rivettes could get creative and come up with a new chapeau that reflects our group. It works for the red hat ladies doesn't it?
I want something that's a good sunshade, but other than that I'm clueless. So will you my creative friends try to come up with something good (and no one post the old Sally Fields as the flying num, OK?)
Paula

After 50 Years Still Wearin' Strong
This picture is from the 50th anniversary dedication of the WBCCI, in Nova Scotia.
The two of us are Charter Members of the Club.
Carolyn McNamara Zimmer, and Pee Wee.
I still wear my "Blue Beret" to rallies.

Tradition vs......
So, what would happen if I showed up with a beret that was covered in Navy blue sequins.... perhaps with silver rivet sequins down the seams?

I wear a Pith helmet (Wally did too.)
They are easy to find in pith, straw and fiberglass.
They block the sun well and allow good air circulation.

If you want a real beret, make sure that it is Basque. They make the nicest berets and if you hunt around, you can find them in navy blue. I just got a beautiful one from a supplier in Seattle who brings a few in from Spain once a year.

Yes if it is important enough to be a garment I think it's important enough to be good quality. That seamed fabric one looks weird too. Might as well pass out paper hats if it's just to meet the dress code.
However this Rivette thinks the bandanas are cool.
