Well, it's cold and rainy here in the Heartland. Typical Spring; warm for a bit, then back to cold. Tonite it's supposed to freeze.

While I could have brought out the AS, I chose not to until I'm sure Winter has indeed gone away. I need to do some work on her, and I do not want to do it when it's cold outside.

I need new batteries, and I might as well put in a better converter, also.
Any thoughts on which one to install?

I'm guessing the converter is under the front couch. What is the best way to get to it?

Disco batteries. I removed the drawer under the gaucho(sofa) then belly crawled in to get to the converter.

Otherwise remove gaucho for easy access.

I think that with my rotund shape and aging joints I will remove the couch.

I'm liking this thread. There's nothing like the sound of a radial engine orchestrating the sky.

These are my favourites. Lucky me; I am occasionally taken for a ride.....

Went to "wings in Autumn" in north Alabama several times. Nothing like the symphony of big radial engines, and P-51s flying in formation. Makes the hair in the back of my neck stand up just thinking of it now...

My daughter also loved it!

We have a B-17 based in the Valley (CAF) and it makes occasional flights to the east side. What a lovely sound, four radials growling cheerfully through the sky.

I grew up riding in several generations of the Beech 18 with a pair of P&W 450 hp radials. I was told my first flight ride was in a Bamboo Bomber - the Cessna T-50 with radials. I was only a few weeks old, so no great memories are available, but the steady drone probably put me to sleep.

The Canadian Harvard association is nearby in Tillsonburg Ontario. They do a number of air shows including the Hamilton one at the War Bird Heritage Museum in Mount Hope. Love the ROAR of those radials. Thirsty beasties though. A friend had one and stated 60 gallons per hour at cruise.

Squirrels!!!!

Really.

I need to wipe their cute faces off the planet. One keeps chewing his way thru wire cloth to access my shop attic. I think he was the one who ate my Trailer AC wiring. He must die.
