possible names for a new club name

I have heard a bit of talk about a new club forming. One that has all the good of the WBCCI and none of the bad. If a new club was to form, what would it be called? Do any of you ever think about this? what are some possible name suggestions?

I always thought that stood for "Fix it again, Tony!"

how about include all silver trailers?

I may get flamed for this, but I'd like to see one form that included the "silver sisters" out there as well. As in, not just Airstream, but also include other makes of classic silver trailers, like Avion, Streamline, Silver Streak, Wright Curtis, Spartan, etc.

I guess that already exists, sort of, with the Tin Can Tourists. But I'd be up for joining a WBCCI-Like club but with less formality and more flexibility in rigs allowed.

Anyway, I sold my Excella and now have an Avion 34X. I can't be in WBCCI now if I wanted to

Frank
I think AOA or Airstream Owners of America
Something Like the AOPA////// Aircraft Owners and Pilots Assoc.
Any reference to Wally or his club should be avoided because of infringement lawsuits.
I think I could join a club that the focus is on Camping, and meeting people and making friends and not be about ROBERTS RULES,insurance, catered lunches and 1st and 2nd vice presidents HAS BEEN's, 99% of the members I have met are TOP NOTCH in my book, its the 1% that have snubed us and shown us a BETTER THAN THOU attitude that I have a problem with.

Airstream Travelers Club

Whatever the new name turns out to be, remember to keep the dues very low, and no travel funds for any officers, and a rule book about one page long. I'll probably join, as my membership in the WBCCI will expire on 12/31/09.

I hate to throw water on the fire of ideas, but it's important from time to time to look reality in the face.

1. If a group of people join together to form a "club," then, humans being human, bureaucracy will result: You'll have officers (perhaps by some other label), elections, and so forth.

2. If that club collects dues, the IRS will want to know it.

3. If this group applies for non-profit status, the IRS will want to see its organizing and governance documents.

You see which direction this is going. If the club becomes popular, it will be the WBCCI with a different name.

It seems to me, then, that you've got two choices:

a. Form a club and become the WBCCI under a different name.

b. Don't form a club. Use a forum for informal idea exchange, and work within the existing club to forge reform.

I'm a founder and director of a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit corporation. We have corporate officers and rules and bylaws and such, because the US government demands it. But believe me, we spend less than 10 minutes per year addressing any of those things. We spend the rest of the time raising money for our charities.

Just because you have rules, doesn't mean you have to spend weeks or months talking about them or enacting them.

And if you don't like the rules of one organization, and there doesn't seem to be a reasonably expedient way of changing them, then it makes sense to create another organization whose rules and activities you like better.

Anyway, how 'bout Vintage Trailerites Association?
