Police Blotter: Small Town USA
Small Town Police Blotters contain reports that may be different from mainstream Media. I encourage that anyone who is living in a small town, like ours, to participate and occasionally select an 'event' occurring in your town.

I'm in! Will start by catching up with a few interesting recent tidbits.
Monday, Sept. 17
A man took six bottles of champagne from a liquor store in Kimball Junction without paying. He returned the next day and stole four bottles of wine and a beer. Employees described the suspect as a 50-year-old male with gray hair, approximately 6 feet tall and weighing about 200 pounds.
On Saturday, Sept. 15
A moose described as large was seen in a residential area along Deer Valley Drive at 11:16 a.m.
Thursday, Sept. 13
The police at 8:52 a.m. investigated a report of a person sleeping at City Park. The person was found to be enjoying the weather and taking a nap, the police said.
Tuesday, Sept. 11 someone went to the Park Avenue police station to turn in ammunition.
Saturday, Sept 8 The Park City Police Department last weekend received a complaint about a driver who was apparently moving especially slowly on Main Street, a road where traffic is at a crawl at the busiest times.
The vehicle was traveling "so slowly so he could look at the sights," the police were told.
Thursday, Sept 6 Park City police called after dogs seen 'kind of antagonizing' moose.

On Monday, July 23 at 5:31 p.m., someone reported they could see "feet sticking out behind a tree" on Snow Creek Drive. The person told the police the feet could be seen since noon. The Police Department indicated the circumstances were suspicious.

Lamoille County (VT) Sheriff's Department
May 21 at 6:05 a.m., a woman driving a loaner vehicle in Hyde Park couldn’t figure out how to defrost the windows.
May 21 at 3:39 p.m., a car for sale in a Hyde Park driveway didn’t belong to the homeowner, and she wasn’t sure who left it there.
May 21 at 9:28 p.m., a vehicle broke down in the Hyde Park roundabout.
May 22 at 9:51 a.m., another vehicle broke down in the Hyde Park roundabout.
May 22 at 2:47 p.m., the Vermont Studio Center in Johnson painted over graffiti on a neighboring building, but had to pay the homeowner when they used the wrong shade of gray to do it.
May 23 at 10:56 a.m., a Johnson resident loaned a friend his credit card in December, and was upset about more than $500 worth of charges. He can’t reach the friend.
May 25 at 8:47 a.m., the driver of a red pickup truck promised to pay for the four mailboxes he ruined when he dozed off at the wheel in Johnson.
May 25 at 11:43 p.m., essential oils left on clothing that was put into a clothes dryer combusted in a laundry basket hours later at a North Hyde Park home.
(If this doesn't make you want to be a policeman I don't know what would!)

Local News (Grand Rapids, Michigan): LV Review October 6-7, 2018
Six Figure Tag placed on Cosmic Doorstop
A Michigan man curious about a rock he'd used for decades as a doorstop, now knows its secret.
It's a Meteorite worth $100,000.
In fact, the nearly 23 pound hunk of iron and nickel is the sixth-largest meteorite found in Michigan, according to the Smithsonian Museum and Central Michigan University.
David Mazurek said he took his doorstop to the university for examination after seeing reports in January of a meteorite pieces selling for thousands of dollars.
Police Blotter:
The landowner did not give David Mazurek permission to take any Cosmic Material off his farm. Only to let him and his dog hike within the property. The property owner wants the meteorite returned, which would be Ray Eklund in Nevada.
(The second half Police Blotter is Fake News.) I can guarantee you that there will be further questions as to WHERE was this hunk found? If you think I am kidding... send it to me, as I have no clue where it was found. Most likely in my back yard and I am sticking to that story.
Imagine a 23 pound... doorstop explanation. I can't. Maybe found in his Rock Garden when planting some Rose Bushes would settle any and all other claims of ownership. Like mine.
It might be the largest Meteorite ever found in Nevada and worth even... more.

Another few days in the life of the Morristown VT police department:
June 8 at 11:20 a.m., what was first reported as harassment turned out to be two people arguing over the finer points of property ownership on Washington Highway.
June 8 at 8:13 p.m., police and Morristown Emergency Medical Services personnel headed to Richmond Street after passersby reported an unresponsive male in a parked car. The man was OK; he had just pulled over to safely, and legally, send text messages.
June 9 at 12:28 p.m., a vehicle was reported stolen on Route 15, only for the owner to discover it had rolled into a nearby building. Both the car and the building sustained minor damage, but the dog inside the vehicle was OK.
June 13 at 8:23 a.m., what was reported as suspicious activity at a Golf Course Road home was actually just someone housesitting.
June 13 at 8:50 p.m., a bear was causing trouble for people living just off Bridge Street, so police told one of them to take down their bird feeder now that it’s summer.
June 14 at 7:10 a.m., police aren’t sure where the loud music reported on Maple Street is coming from, but they’ve got their ears to the ground.
June 14 at 8:39 p.m., the people reported to be sleeping in their vehicle in the Fairground Plaza parking lot were doing just that but weren’t actually doing anything wrong.

Wow, it's a small world! That's a beautiful area. (And not too much hard crime by the looks of it!)

Boulder City Review, Nevada 10-25-2018 Police Blotter
A woman called police and she said her ex-boyfriend moved her semitruck and was intoxicated. She said he was also driving around the area in a golf cart. Officers responded and looked for the golf cart and the man driving it. They could not find him; the woman said she would call back if anything else happens that night. Almost 8 1/2 hours later, officers received another call about the man, who appeared to be drunk and roaming around on a golf cart. Officers responded and located the man, who was hiding behind bushes and running from them. He was not complying with their demands.
(No doubt to be continued next week.)

Same date as Post #15.
The intoxicated caller states that her vehicle is missing from the spot she parked it and must have been towed while she was at her meeting. After an exhaustive search by officers, the missing vehicle is safely located, nestled in the driveway of the caller's home at 11:46PM
******
Officers received a report of people chasing mountain sheep up a hill. When the officers arrived, there were no sheep in the Park and people were flying kites and walking around. 1:45PM
(Just another day in a small town with lots of idle time to report... incidents.)
