Prunes are dried plums.
Raisins are dried grapes.

So why is it "prune juice" and not "plum juice"? Calling it "prune juice" is like calling grape juice "raisin juice."

There is no difference. Prune juice, which is actually plum juice, is just made from a variety of plums called prunes. ... This type of plum is used to make “prunes” and “prune juice” because they are a freestone variety which means the pits are easier to remove making them perfect for juicing and drying.

At another site it says that prune juice is made by re-hydrating dried prunes and then extracting the juice from the disintegrated dried fruit. It's a different process than extracting juice from the whole fruit.

https://theconscientiousomnivore.wor...5/prune-juice/

I think prune juice is the state beverage of Florida but I can't find any verification of that.

I hate to be argumentative - this isn’t the Argue thread after all - but this is like asking why we don’t put toast in a toaster.

Just as bread, once transformed to toast from the toaster, is no longer bread, so too plums, once transformed (concentrated) to prunes are no longer plums.

So too:

Caterpillars/butterflies
Children/adults
Mercedes vans/Airstream Interstates
Etc....

No, it's the abuse thread. Arguments are 4 threads east of here.

A toaster toasts. A broiler broils. A fryer fries. I don't see a problem with describing an item by its function.

But then again…
A person who rides a bicycle is a cyclist, not a biker.
A person who rides a motorcycle is a biker, not a motorist.
A person who drives an automobile is a motorist.

BTW are you related to Mitch Landrieu? Just saw him on TV.

Disregard if too personal.

And a motorist who eats buttered toast and drinks prune juice for breakfast is likely to have to pull over at some point. I think we’ve really made some progress here! [emoji3]

But will he use a teethbrush or 32 toothbrushes? Well, if a senior, probably fewer teeth, but I like to use one brush and also teethpaste. So much easier to pack.

What do your eye teeth look at when your mouth is closed?

Don't know. I get my tongue wrapped around my eye teeth and can't see what I'm saying!

And now for something completely different

If we are drinking the juice from something that is already dried, then where is the juice coming from? And why would I have to pull over?

When you do pull over, you will find the answer and I will be glad to be at least 6' away.

I told my wife that mowing the grass (weeds) would just stir up the latent coronavirus.

She wasn't having any of it.

Living In Your Trailer or Full-Timing?

Staying in one place for an extended period, perhaps moving seasonally, compared to traveling from place to place, perhaps not staying in any one place for more than a few days/weeks.

Is there a difference?
