Have you ever tried to get useful information on a subject only to find everyone who replied to your thread wanted to discuss something else? Frustrating, right!?

I guess we all feel we have something important to say and we want to let people know about. We think we're helping, perhaps giving the OP some information so they see the error in their ways. In my opinion, if you can't stay on topic, at least close to the topic, don't reply to a thread! Just keep out of it!

If you don't have experience with the topic/product/service under discussion... just go to another thread in which you can add some value. Telling GM owners they should by a Ford or RAM when the OP clearly asked a question about a GM issue is probably not helping anyone. Telling somebody to buy a dual axle trailer just because you have a dual axle trailer likely does not help the situation if the OP has inquired about Bambi's. Jumping in on a plumbing question to tell somebody about how to route their wiring is useless. Now add to that everyone who wants to tell you about their wiring ideas leaves the OP, who asked about plumbing, befuddled as to why everyone wants to talk about wiring.

A little thread drift here and there is part of a discussion. Everyone jumping in to talk about the product/service/person they like is more than annoying.

So the next time you reply to a thread, go back to post #1, see what was asked and decide if you should reply. If you're not addressing the OP's issue maybe you shouldn't reply.

Okay, I'm returning the soap box to the next in line.

Yes. We wouldn't sway from the topic, then.

Buy an Airstream with an Empty Paper SACK

I studied a Thread where this guy could buy an Airstream off the lot, finance for the life of a Dog and the Dealer takes the beating, not the buyer.

Then this person could sell it, make money or break even after using it for less than a year.

Yes. I have an empty paper sack from Albertsons. Well, maybe plastic but pretend it is paper. Lets assume recycled paper.

If I stood at an Exit into Las Vegas and held this small paper sack, that was empty, the first five to seven drivers would be obliged to help me out. "Saving for my Airstream" kind of sign around my neck.

The last couple, we watched standing on the Sunset Exit to the Sunset Station Casino, have this all figured out. A few days later we saw them walking together into the Casino.

Like clockwork, they looked worse than they did going into the Casino earlier in the week at the same exit, same place. I was car number one. He had some $1 bills in his brown paper sack, the bills looked real to me, in his paper sack. I was going to ask if he could break a $40 bill... but decided I would keep the forty for a novelty.

I asked "Hey, how did you do at the Casino?"

He, at first looked surprised: "Lost it on the Craps Table".

Damn... he should have bought that Airstream plan I mentioned earlier. Or maybe that was his... down the street. Looked sweet.... and a late model.

Hijacked this Thread... and will toss in a Trunk Monkey Video for $1.

Las Vegas: Giving away MONEY of the sidewalks!!!

I will get back to whatever I should be doing, but if I finish doing it too soon, Nancy may make be do something else.

In Las Vegas, on the Strip.. hustlers are passing out what look like real Currency which then has advertising. Like a folded $100 Bill, and when opened advertises an Antique Shop. I put it on one of this retractable nylon fish line, staple the fake bill to the opposite end. Great for handouts at the corner... and then... poof, it is gone. (Well, not really but still have fun when sitting on a bench.)

One bill is for $2,000,000 and some kind of promotion at Caesars/Paris. The initials BOL in red magic marker must get credit if I fill it out and come in to claim my $2,000,000... "Twenties, please."

Another the size of a dollar bill. Teddy Roosevelt on a $1,000,000 bill... looks well made. The print needs a magnifying glass.., but I can see the "Has your beloved Pet or Someone you love pass away?"

I went back and he was gone and another guy had a $1,000 poorly designed bill with 'Howdy Potner' aka R. H. Dick McClintic: Fun & Entertainment Capital of the World. Las Vegas Marine Supply...

None of the Casino's accept these.

Neither the Obama $0 and a Trump 2016 Dollar bill.

Those handing out 'Strip Club' cards disappeared. Hundreds dropped and laying around the sidwalk. I should have picked them up and traded them like Baseball Cards. Some... were probably Major League Players from what I managed to see...

But we do have fun when we get out of the house. If you dress a bit shabby... people want to hand you money. I tried to TIP a Taxi Driver with a pocket full of change twenty years ago leaving THE Strip.

He turned it down. Only wanted 'paper currency'.

Not bright. we were LEAVING Las Vegas. Who has any Paper Currency?

SO CAN SOMEBODY please explain to me how my "original" Cheezits can also be reduced fat? I mean, that's what it says on the box.

And while we're on the subject, the "Original" Fig Newtons I got to have with my scotch are listed as low sugar. What gives? The scotch won't taste right without the sugar.

Don't get me started on the Oreos and Bourbon. Double stuffed just ain't right.

Your obedient,

Jim

Not being much of a scotch drinker, a question. Fig Newtons and scotch I remember from an episode of MASH. Is that how this got started? Asking for a friend.

That being said, I've never heard of Oreos and bourbon, and I do enjoy both but not at the same time.

I can not believe someone else is asking that question! We just received our PeaPod delivery - of course CheezIts were on the list - one doesn’t hunker down without them - and as I was wiping down the box with my Clorox wipes I asked myself that exact same question!!!

I’m finding my taste for scotch, whisky, bourbon keeps changing. I love Glenlivet 18 but that’s a splurgy spend not for average weekend consumption. I’ve been a fan of the Dimple Pinch, Shackleton, and Dewars 12 but recently have been finding Jameson Irish to be more pleasing on the palette. Not sure why. Haven’t tried fig newtons with that family of beverages but can see how that might be pleasant.

Oreos and bourbon? No. I’m sorry. As the Monty Python team might say, that is RIGHT OUT!

In that family - the best I’ve had is a Pappy Van Winkle - both the 18 and the 23 and thought the 18 was outstanding - the 23 was a bit jet fuelish...

Again - way too spendy for a casual sip if you can even find it anymore. Faves here are Woodford Reserve or the Knob Creek Rye which is very snappy and bright and great with a good ginger ale or ginger beer. But Oreos? No. Simply no. One must draw a line somewhere and here, sir, is where I draw mine! [emoji3]

I have lately become fond of Kir...

Crime de Chassis and champagne or Prosecco, raspberries if you have them.

Yum.

Sounds interesting Maggie!

In honor of your pooch, perhaps you might enjoy Lillet? It’s great on its own and in certain cocktails:

Colonel Sherman T. Potter himself taught me that trick. If you've ever had chocolate and champagne together.......

Lillet sounds yummy!

I‘ll have to look for that, once I can again wander around a liquor store.

I’m thinking it’s not considered an essential activity,

Maggie

And don't you know Fuelrod's sister is Meltdown? What are their parents' names?
