Two of my favourite American-made products (besides the Airstream) - MoTown and the Ford Mustang.
Probably one of the best "accidental" car ads; the melding of a youth-oriented automobile with a good song.
Look at the size of that Mustang engine! Was the Mustang ever on Nader's hit list?
The assembly-line process is interesting to watch. Dearborn, Michigan was rockin' in those days.
But I don't like how the spray painters are wearing no nose/eye protection whatsoever. They don't look very happy in the clip either. According to Martha Reeves, the workers did not want women anywhere near the assembly line. That was "man's work," even when the venture would sell a lot of Mustangs.

What a hoot, thanks!
That spray booth paint containment system sucked the paint droplets into those large overhead units, and replaced that air with positive-pressurized fresh/filtered clean air, so the workers were probably OK. I have used a [much] smaller spray booth, and they actually work pretty well.
Thanks again for the great video and tune!

Thanks for the update. I did not know.
Regardless, those workers sprayed a lot of paint. Ford predicted 100,000 Mustangs would be sold the first year. The sold 400,000 in 1965, and 1M in 1966.

Here is a nice somber version of He Rode All The Way to Texas.
"The freedom that he sings about
I guess I'll never know
I just can't shake the guilt or kill the pain
But it helps to ride when the lights turns low
I'll get on board the radio and take a ride to Texas on his train"

Coronavirus
This sad number pretty much sums it up IMO.
Wail on, Jimmy Cliff, and thank you for so much great music!
Rest in Peace.

Rest in Peace, Kenny Rogers.
https://www.latimes.com/obituaries/s...ny-rogers-dead
Funny quote at the bottom:
"I’m firmly convinced that at this point in my career, my audience falls into one of two categories: either people born since the ’80s whose parents forced them to listen to my music as [a form of] child abuse, or people who were born before the ’60s and can no longer remember the ’60s,” he told the Boston Globe in 2013.
"Born before the 60's" here . . . I think . . .
Is "Lucille" somber enough for this OTRA II thread?

In light of the times we are living in, I went back through this thread, with its "somber" theme, and am amazed at all the good groups and tunes here.
Here is a repeat number from Post #13 . . . Blue Highway is a great group! More good tunes from them will pop up on YouTube after this one plays, if you have opened a new window/tab/frame. [see below]
