Interesting... While scanning some car ads the word "Airstream" kinda jumped out out me?!?!?!.

The ad described a Nissan Altima with the colour "Airstream Silver". Too cool!

A world first, this new process causes the paint to gleam like liquid metal. The color, which seems to be stretched over the vehicle body like a metallic skin, emphasizes the compelling lines of the large Mercedes coupe more effectively than any other paint finish while the light plays on them in a way calculated to make them even more vivid. This is made possible by the use of pigment particles which measure just 30 to 50 nanometers and are therefore able to be incorporated in the surface of the paint much more evenly. As a result, the light is reflected much more intensively and the luster of the paintwork is enhanced. To put this into perspective, conventional paintwork pigments measure between 100 and 300 nanometers.

The latest issue of Popular Science actually has a better article, but it doesn't appear to have the information on-line yet. The paint contains ultra-small aluminum flakes. Don't expect it in the US anytime soon -

Applying it evenly requires thinning with an amount of solvent that violates US air pollution regulations.

It only adds an estimated $10K to the price of the vehicle! But,

that's small change for a car rumored to cost over $200,000.

Even though the guy running the ad is just "mooching" off the Airstream name, it honestly does look like "Airstream Silver" in color.

Yes, mooching for sure. Out of curiosity I did a search for the Airstream colour for 2003 Nissans and non was found. ColorLibrary.com ColorChip Search

Ah yes, Airstream grey, the almost exact color of my face ten minutes ago when I took a look outside from an upstairs window since it suddenly started to rain hard with a bit of wind and thought a large tree branch had fallen and hit my baby. A hasty trip down the stairs, out the door, across the deck, over the bridge, through the wet grass to find that it had missed by a good six inches . Now if I can just get my heartbeat back to normal ........
