well things are smelling pretty good in aggieville today......which is now called higginsville.....did ya see the hire? big time....and i'm really glad they'll be some competitions again....he's not jack hartman...but higgs will win...
while higgs (and some of his players) has had some issues......
he's gonna be great for ksu....
just so they keep the players away from the vet school and critters...
see (and this IS true) higgins first wayward player....
back in 95, was arrested for.......are you ready?
striking a horse......yep like the mongo, in blazin' saddles....he hit a horse.
so the wildcats may be adding new trainers/medics for next season

GO WHEAT SHOCKERS!!! coached by a jayhawk.......

2air'
Well 2air......let me correct you..... its hugginsville (huggins) and he'll be good for the wildcats (BTW...the wildcats did beat the chickenhawks the last game they played each other this year!)! But there is still hope......the ladycats are in the semifinals of the wnit.......it seems that more folks attend the ladycat games than the mencat games in the "little apple".....maybe that'll change with huggins!
I can remember growing up watching tex winters coaching such greats as bob boozer, cedric price and don matuzak for the cats. I also saw Gayle Sayers in fb and Wilt Chamberlin & JoJo White in bb play for the hawks against kstate in both sports.....truly amazing athletes!
So did you go to KU med school?

Kathleen......heartbreaking loss of WA to UConn tonight....they just ran out of steam.

well hugginsville is rockin already.... one of the top unsigned recuits in the country...a 7ft+ kid is considering ksu now....and a 2x mister ohio basketball...is too....so with a new coach for fb and bb things are hopin in powercat land....

there is already talk that espn may do the first big monday in the little apple next season...

i saw gayle play, and jojo, and bobby douglas, john riggins, nolan cromwell...and a long string of hoop stars...

i watched danny manning play the dogs, in seattle in '88...
there were more jayhawks at the game than huskie fans....
when we waved the wheat...they thought it was a monks' chant....actually it is!

didn't see wilt (i'm not that old) play but i did see him return when his number was retired...before he died...

yep, i am a 3 time grad of ku...with 12 years of schooling and 10 more on faculty at kumc... i bleed the crimson and blue....pretty deep.

geez, i though the 'u dub' dogs had 'em tonight......and they almost did.

there is always next year....for the zags, the dogs, the cats and hawks...

To answer the original question; several of us 'Streamers' awoke to the sound of jet dryers and 700hp stock cars this mornin'....nuff said.

More Decisions

The IRL Homestead, FL race is tomorrow. The Indy cars trump all for me.

David, The Indy cars do it for us as well. Nothing like the sound of high revs and the smell of the jet fuel exhaust is there? Love the Petite LeMans as well. Start your engines!

March Madness

I had a great time at the Minneapolis Regionals last night -- saw Villanova squeek past Boston College and Florida do the same to George Washington. Y'know what? None of the players had restrictor plates installed and each could actually maneuver at his own speed!

Racing is a sport? ACC basketball hands down, UVA,UNC, DUKE and then the rest. Its the one Sporting event that I do not miss. ACC playoffs first then NCAA playoffs. I'm still betting on Richard Petty or Fireball Robets to win but thats only if Joe Weatherly isn't on the track with Junior Johnson and Fearless Fred. I don't follow NASCAR very closely.

There must not be many Airstreams in Washington, D.C. -- or else they're out enjoying the weekend instead of sitting in front of their 'puter like the few of us today... That should read Georgetown, not George Washington.

ok motor heads......

how about sparkplug free racing?

check out the american le mans series........audi continues to dominate this venue......

because no one have been able to touch the rs8s/10s these last 6 years (quattro rules!)

audi racing has introduced a new air breathing, kerosene burnin', torque makin' race car this year.....a twin turbo v12 diesel....yea baby...

last weekend they won the 12 hours of sebring and have set sights on the 24 hours of datona....

http://www.greencarcongress.com/2006...iesel_win.html

http://www.motortrend.com/features/a..._wins_sebring/

diesels were the original race cars!

the first link is nice because it notes WHY this racing push by audi with a diesel....

just like they did with quattro back in 1980....
audi is gonna promote the technoloy of diesels for performance and durability....in sports cars......cool.

gentilemen start your french fryers!

cheers

2air, Your Audis are indeed at the top of their class and fun to watch. We wish our Corvette C6Rs had more competition this season as it would make it a race each time they go out there. We can only hope the Ferraris will show at LeMans. Good luck this season but doubt you will need it if history is any indication.

Rock on!!

[Okay, I lied. Susie doesn't exactly think this will be the most thrilling of evenings. But I've been known to be accommodating... Migawd we need to get towing season rolling soon!!]

Well I have to say that ACC and NCAA basketball were one of the many things that Carol and I enjoy equally together. I hope you noticed that ACC was listed first.
