There is something about having to get the old farm truck (1986 Chevrolet C20) that always triggers memories of this tune . . . .

You guys are killing me, I'm getting - put it on classics and pull the knobs off - I feel strangely young...

Music stuck in my head

One of my neighbors has started parking his 1958 Rambler in his driveway . . . and now this song is stuck in my head . . . .

Then . . . . a few blocks later I have to drive past my neighbors 1966 Chevelle SS 396 . . . . .

Not to be outdone, another neighbor often has his Corvair parked in his driveway . . . . . .

Then, of course, there are the Dinah Shore Chevrolet promotionals

Official Video out next week but for now . . .

It's bigger than an Airstream . . . smaller than an ocean liner . . . it's a DC Metro bus with it's own song

Every morning at 0630 reveille is played, we salute the flag and we start our day. For one hour following reveille, some great music is played over the "Big Voice" speakers to get us pumped up for physical training. This song is the first one on the play list.

Somehow, my mind conjures up the opening riffs of this when I am just pulling out on the initial run to somewhere. I used to blare this from the speakers of our boat leaving the little harbor here. Everyone else plays reggae.

I actually think I am finally done with reggae, myself. Accidental Overdose.

Why am I the only one stuck with that "sharp knife of a short life" monstrosity? If it's playing on the radio somewhere, my brain knows it.

It took many listens of Foster the People for me to realize that they weren't singing, "All you kids with the pumped-up kicks better run ... faster than my pony ... All you kids with the pumped-up kicks better run ... outrun my puppet ..."

Well, one of my all-time worrisome ones that likes to creep into my head at the least provocation and is most difficult to dislodge is of course anything with whistling in it.

Or especially....:

Have you ever been privy to something that resonated because it was a microcosm of your life?

Bob,

Thanks for that. I enjoyed the music and imagery. The Beech Staggerwing is a classic; one of my favourites, along with the Waco Cabin and Corsair.

That CD is one of my favorite "campfire" selections.

I adjust the lyrics on this to fit our Stream'n travels.

The last cut on the album, "If This is Goodbye", was written as a remembrance of those lost on 9-11.

Okay, Okay, now I think I got it. Tunes that move into your head and need the audio equivalent of a blasting cap to dislodge. Okay. I got some.

and who can forget:

and Bob I bet I got everything Knopler ever recorded, and most of Emmylou's.

Remember Kris and Rita?
