Maddening forum pop-up!

Does anyone know how to eliminate the constant and maddening forum pop-up that invites you to supply your email in order to daily receive the best of airstream forum posts to your email inbox? It constantly pops up on my screen while I'm perusing the forum posts. I love and appreciate the forum but have no desire to receive more emails.

The best way is to become a supporting member. When you log in, the pop-up goes away.

I have noticed the site crashing more often; any one else experiencing this?

Turn off java script in your browser
It is very simple to do.

Seems part of the recent update was increased spam. There had been a number of complaints recently.

We haven't had Site crashing issues here in a very long time.

I get freezes every once in a while but I think my provider is to blame.

My vote based on only having cell phone data to use would be smaller amount of data to download per page.

I do have 4G so load speed is pretty good, but data does cost more and overage charges are steep. Folks that travel likely often have the same issue.

I have tried to post my comments and get tossed off the Forum. I use to get 2 to 4 cookies and now see 28 added to my browser.

Something is amiss in Air Land. Even the downloading of a Thread deducts minutes to my already burned out mind.

Maybe this time my shorter, more cordial post, will be accepted.

Added: Now up to 38 cookies and slower than a V4 pulling a 36 footer.

it has definitely changed; much slower and freezes up more often.

Holding at 38 websites stored cookies or other data...

Slow, slower and slowest. I can type faster than my cursor, at times. Something is dragging the site down to needing double clicks and watching the bar for site access on my computer to even get onto the site.

I will look at these cookies and see who is so interested in my browser...

also look at the members vs visitors; has been running about 1 : 10. Don't know if this effects the running or not.

I am still having a new webpage opening up with DesertAutoplex, regardless if I am signed in or not. and it continues when I click on threads.

This is the ONLY website that does this.

Any suggestions?

Janet: is this supposed to happen?

Thanks,

I noticed that there are six months between replies here...

FWIW, over the past couple of days, especially yesterday, I noticed a big increase in advertisements hanging and causing pageload errors. In the bottom left corner of the screen, there'll be a "Waiting for..." message and the reference will be to some tiled ad that is refusing to load properly and is fouling the page. I'm not sure if this could be related to the other poster's issues.

I'm viewing from a desktop Mac, and I run Ad Blocker Pro.
I don't get any popups, and I see 21 blocked elements by ABP.
It's free, and seems to work for me.
