Reminds me of the time I was stuck in the desert... I was forced to eat food and drink water for 3 days...

It would appear we'd given up camping. We haven't been out since the Can Openner. My husband's family (rural north Missouri) used to celebrate Easter with a community picnic, always held in a lovely grove of trees near a stream bed, often blustery and cold but once in a blue moon, sunny and warm. If warm, hunting for morels was the highlight, after the pot luck spread of course. Old folks would reminisce, younger ones watch after their kidsand the kids were running all over. I'd give almost anything to go back in time to one of those Easter picnics! Sorry, a little hijacking, but close. . .~G

We've given up dessert or any snacking after dinner. It's been really tough for the kids, but an effective lesson and constant reminder of what sacrifice means.

Hopefully after 40 days some of the notion of
disciplining our miscellaneous appetites will stick

Steve
