It's for the Birds
Hi
Just got back to the campground here in Bodega Bay RV in Bodega Bay..we took a short drive to the Tides Restaurant, location for the old Alfred Hitchock's 'the Birds' with Rod Taylor and Tippi Hedren ..got to meet her, Tippi, and take a pic w/her..she looked marvelous!..here's a trivia question for you: what is her daughter's name who's a well-known actress?..(hint: married to the "Zorro" hunk star)

Melanie Griffith is her daughter and Antonio Banderas is her son in law.
What do I win?

We are headed for the 100's here in Boise for the rest of the week. Bad for the forest, good for business. We are expecting to be real busy July 4-6.

Since we have completely hijacked this thread, this is my favorite picture of Gracie....
Smokie will not go near the pool, but get her near a lake....

Ok, I've gotta ask, does that actress show up at that restaurant every night so she can sign autographs and get her pictures taken?
Sorry, no pool in our back yard - just a creek and a couple of hundred cedars and other trees to provide shade.
Enjoy that sun, living up this far north on the west coast we get a lot, but never enough.

Hi Barry,
I don't know how often she shows up there, but it did inspire us to rent the video in our safari Saturday nite at the campground..it IS a pretty weird movie and good..what's eerie was the next day, we drove up to the Bodega Head overlooking the ocean, and out of nowhere there were a dozen seagulls circling above our heads about 50 ft away!!!..she did ask for $25 for autographed photos or $10 to take a pic w/her or of her...

Nothing like a well-hijacked thread. . .one of the fine aspects of forum life! The Birds, one of our favorite oldie movies, and we always comment when we see any flock of birds congregating near us. Our trip to Bodega Bay quite a few years back was a fun trip with movie recalling and some of the best fresh oysters we've had. ~G

Hi maxandgeorgia (which one?)..we even stopped at the schoolhouse (the Bodega Bay School), where it is privately owned..there is a gift shop on the bottom floor, the owner resides upstairs. the water tower (painted white in the movie) is still standing.
