I would rather be…?

Ok
It is a cold wet grey day here in New England and I would rather be somewhere warm, sitting by a campfire next to our Airstream.
How about you?
Bruce

same

a lite snow would be a welcome change from this dreary rain. In my mind I am sitting in my chair, by my campfire, in the woods or by a stream, looking at my airstream with a nice red. Don't wake me up!

The holiday season makes me think of my family who are no longer here. Lost my parents fairly young. Yesterday was not a good day; was feeling the pressure of starting a new busiiness etc. - those adult day-to-day stresses - and had no one to turn to.

Life stinks sometimes.

Am back biting the bullet today, but yesterday, I was sure yearning for some "campfire" warmth for the emotional soul. Wished I was home with my parents. My dad and I would be in the den watching "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" (our favourite holiday show) and mom's Christmas baking would be wafting from the kitchen.

The lack of sunshine makes the winter solstice an unhappy time for many. The ancients saw a need to celebrate and chase away the blahs. Life stinks most of the time. My Mom often said that life was like the gangplank of a chicken coop. It went up and down and was mostly covered in chit. A virtual hug to you FaN.

I would rather be…?

Right where I am at the moment. Life is good right now, and promises to get even better very soon.

Hmmm... where would I rather be....?

I guess here is not so bad. I'm warm. My little family likes me. Nobody whipped or beat me today. I have plenty to eat, and my clothes aren't excatly rags.

It's not so bad here, for now.

But, when Spring comes to the tundra, I imagine a life of adventure and fun. Meeting lovely new people. Traveling to exotic places. Living in a shiny metal tube called an Airstream. For a few precious moments, I will have a LIFE !
