From the last spaghetti models, these are more northerly. That's bad because it leaves less interaction with Cuba and more time over water.
When it becomes a named storm, it will be Fred.

More land mass and mountains would be nice.

Florida here .. picking up our 25GT FBQ on Saturday, WD/Sway Control hitch likely not to arrive in time. Guess we’ll get to see how she does on the ball for the 50 miles of interstate driving we’ve got.

Hi

Or just push things back a week and have the hitch you need to be safe.

So the storm looks like it will run at least up through Florida. We should be at top of Georgia Wednesday .... any bets on where the storm (remnants) will be then ??

Before placing any bets, keep in mind that there still seems to be an outstanding "pending delivery" of some San Miguel Dark to ... errr .... somebody ... ummm ....

I took this screen shot from "live radar". They're only about 5 minutes behind (9:35am)
Maybe I'm whistling past the graveyard, but that sure doesn't look like a killer storm to me.
Top winds are down to 35 from 45 yesterday, and the mountains of the DR will have some effect.
Looks like it will skirt Cuba just to the north, pass over Key West, then shoot up the west coast of FL (if you believe the cone) or 80 miles offshore (If you believe the spaghetti models.)
The path is really close to that Elsa took, and Invest 95L is right behind Fred.

Hi

I'd say the big risk is it swings out over the water and suddenly makes up it's mind about being a major storm. Everybody is sitting there thinking it's a dud and bam ...

(Yes, this includes people foolish enough to be headed that way .....)

You must be coming from Ft. Meyers? to Parrish?
If it was Tampa, then 301 would be perfect!
Are you doing the walkthrough on Saturday also? That takes a while.
Fred will be somewhere off the coast of South Florida on Saturday.

When I was supposed to pick up mine, Hurricane Irma went right over North Trail! I had already paid for it. Supposedly they put all the Airstreams inside the new maintenance building and put all the motor coaches side by side in the parking lot.

Let me know how it turns out.

We are picking up in Tampa. I’m stubborn and like 75 over 301 so we’ll see how things go on Saturday and decide from there.

We are doing the walkthrough tomorrow (Friday) and staying the night, then coming home on Saturday.

okay.
According to the cone, Fred will be somewhere around Flamingo or Little Shark River, far from you. You may feel some rain bands on and off.
The 11 am projections didn't vary much from the 8am.
Good luck!

The 5 pm projections have Fred moving more westerly, staying offshore.
Still plenty of wiggle room, but there's no fronts marching down the east coast to push it ashore. 🤞Fingers crossed.

Goodbye Fred, hello Grace.
Fred has moved far enough west that most of Florida is not even in the cone.
Seven...to become Grace is following Fred, except it's predicted to turn north sooner, maybe going up Florida's east coast? It's still beyond the windward islands so time will tell.

Hi

Fred still could pick up speed before it hits the panhandle. We'll see ...... The whole "ignore it / it's nothing" could become a problem. I don't think I'd want to be camping at a National Park out on a spit of land in Pensacola bay if it arrives there.

Currently, In Tampa, the Sun is shining, there's some light clouds, and a light breeze.
I'll assume your tow back to Parrish was uneventful?

Test 1: Is Jim Cantori standing around in his Gore-tex?
Test 2. Is Anderson Cooper looking for a ditch to stand in?
Test 3. Is Brian Williams sitting on his hotel balcony, hoping to see a body float by?

Made it home today from the dealership with no issues. Weather and traffic were kind to us.

So, Fred is coming ashore today in the western panhandle of Florida.
Grace is steaming due west and it looks like it will make landfall in Mexico.
Henri (#8) is wandering around near Bermuda and isn't going to be a threat. (I hope)

I like it!
