Long story short, the windows were covered because her 2nd husband in 4 years had kicked the bucket last fall & some guy on the make was harassing her late at night ... all the mattress pads are down, the windows are open now, turns out the hung monkey is the mascot for her boat, the baby-on-a-birdhouse is "mooning" her, she's going to use her trailer to haul my pontoon dock down to the boat launch when she puts hers in, i WILL learn to fish, if she bothers with men again her next husband will be black, she's .... well, a total chain-smokin', shot-drinkin', trash-talkin', river-fishin' guy magnet.
What's not to like? I mean, the vodka shots were already poured & in the fridge. (I begged off in lieu of an MGD.)

Do you have a picture of the boat?

Oh, and her son is in prison & she's had to buy her daughter 5 new cars. "Don't even ask," she said.

Her boat? Actually, it's a state-of-the-art, beautifully maintained pontoon boat with a motor that I know had to set her back 11k.
Or MY "boat." It's an old pontoon boat with no motor that the previous owners used as a dock & kindly left up on blocks out in the front yard for me to puzzle over.
I'd never heard of a pontoon boat before July but they're actually kinda cool.

Isn't it funny how things work? When I first posted this morning, I was in a panic, about to call the first real estate agent in the phone book, totally depressed & suicidal.
Five hours later? The world seemed a whole different place.
But sorry, Pick. No go. And I quote: "Yeah, word gets around about a rich widow like me, perverts start sniffin' around all over the place," she said. "But I'm through with men. I'd probably just put the next one in the grave too."
Chrissy & I are going to get along GREAT.

... as long as the son stays in prison. Be just my luck to fall in love with some recently paroled liquor-store thief.

Yep, I can see it now. BBQ and MGD every Saturday with the neighbors from now until Hell actually does freeze over. Good greif, what have you gotten yourself into!
You know, Kid. You really do have a colorful life. At least the parts you tell us about. What is it you do for a living again? Something nice and bland like city cop in downwtown Chicago?

No, but she DID say, "Cool! I've got myself a shiny new girlfriend" as I moseyed on home.
This was after we ascertained each other's ages. First she said she was the same age as I (43) and I must have looked a little skeptical because she said, "Just kidding! I'm old enough to be your mother." That seemed surprising too ... she didn't seem MUCH older. She laughed & said, "Thirteen years, that's old enough."

Ok, now the Deliverence is no longer funny and I'm now getting flashbacks of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. You know that guy could still be on the loose.

Theresa, you've just got the knack for pulling the best out of folks... and you always seem to meet the NICEST folks...
I'm glad that at least you don't have to post pickets before you hit the rack...

Nice people.
